Great quality appliance incompatible with EU machine
From the build quality perspective, this appliance is great - neatly made, looks sturdy, has everything you need for everyday cooking. The only problem is that I cannot use it! And I can only blame myself as I made a terrible mistake ordering this one from the Amazon US for my brand new Vitamix 2500i ASCENT purchased from Amazon DE in Europe (I’m in EU). When I unboxed and installed the appliance on my Vitamix/EU, it nicely fitted in place but refused to work; it looked like the motor base does not recognise the appliance. I changed to the blending bowl which was delivered as a unit with my Vitamix/EU and it worked perfectly, but this Food Processor Attachment did not. It turns out the Amazon page contained the information that the appliance is compatible only with the Vitamix-es purchased in US/CA only, but unfortunately I missed it. And that was my mistake. When they said it is compatible only with the devices manufactured for US/CA only, they meant it - it does not work on the device manufactured for Europe. Alas, I could not find the food processor attachment in Amazon DE store so I was so happy (and naive) to order it from US. As I learned later from the Vitamix FAQ, they are just "... working to design Blending Cups and Blending Bowls for use with A2300i, A2500i, and A3500i machines in Europe, and will announce the release of those containers at a later date." So, if you’re from EU looking for the food processor attachment in US store, beware - don’t repeat my mistake.

Should have bought it sooner
I have a Vitamix Venturist and have been considering this food processor for a long time before finally deciding it was worth trying. I use it almost weekly and honestly wish I would have bought it sooner. It's terrific for making sauces, pasta dough, tart dough, biscuits, shredding fruits and vegetables in bulk and a host of other things. It's not the easiest thing to clean but it breaks down into several pieces. I will readily admit that cleaning up is the worst part of using it, but I think that's to be expected when it comes to cooking and baking in general. The two included discs can be used to shred or slice thick or thin and they come with a very nice storage case. The entire unit is very well built and I can't see anything breaking or fatiguing anytime soon; it exudes quality just like the blender and motor base does. One thing to note, however, is that once the food processor attachment is on the motor base you cannot change the speed of the motor. It's either on or off at a predetermined speed, which is probably for the best. It can be pulsed or run continuously. If you're considering this and already have a compatible base motor you should pony-up the bucks and buy one.

2 birds with one power base
Works like a dream and I don't need to have different power bases

Excellent food processor with the only drawback - only available in USA and Canada
The Vitamix food processor is a brilliant attachment that combines the strength of the Vitamix motor with food processing. The attachment is a smart tool that gears down the speed of the food processor spindle by seven-fold. It is pretty easy to test this theory by comparing the rotation of the axle that attaches to the coupling device on the motor and the rotation of the axle that the S-blade/ discs attaches to. The food processor makes smooth humus and is a great tool of making nut butters. The benefit of using the food processor to make nut butter is that it is easier to clean than using the blender jug. The only mistake that Vitamix has made is in the instructions for making nut butter - it is not possible to make nut butter in 2.5 minutes in a food processor. The real time is about 5-10 minutes and it will require several attempts. Attached is a photo showing the nut butter - it is pretty comical that it is rolled into a ball but it definitely is nut butter. It is a shame that Vitamix has no intentions to release this attachment outside USA and Canada as many Vitamix users around the world would find it incredibly useful.

I was so excited!!!!!!
I saw this through vitamix website and thought what a great idea i dont have one and love my vitamix what a great combo. Well lets start from the beginning, love the fact that i saved some on the price compared to vitamix came pretty fast no complaints there. So the packaged arrived Oct. 8 and as i opened it from the Amazon first thing i saw was that it was not in its original packaging. Amazon took it out of the vitamix package and put it in just a plain big amazon box. I called amazon and asked them if it was refurbished and they assured me it was brand new. I read the crinkly manual that was thrown in the box i kinda got the idea on how to use it now remember i dont have or ever used any food processor before with that said, i put it together that was not difficult it was ok. I decided to start easy and small so i tried the thin slice used a persian cucumber to see how it did it was easy and slices were thin so far so good. I then tried the thick slice disk and i did mushrooms it did ok but i had a lot crumbs along with the soices and the crumbs got stuck to the ridges and groves of the blade at this point i stoped cleaned of the entire machine and called it a day. Day 2 i was thrilled to use the machine yo make pizza dough took out the machine once again and put it together with the s blade to do the dough, so the cook book was very little help in regards to the process the recipe was average with the ingredients the direction just said process for 10 seconds then process for 30 seconds, since i was not sure what that meant i tried using it on the on setting and wow was that so wrong the base of the blender started moving so i quickly turned it off then i tried pulsing it also started moving the base again and at this point the ingredients all were stuck in the middle of the s blade starting to form a sticky dough i add more flour and oil to get to come together i stopped using the on and off and just used the pulse on the machine still making the machine move i got so nervous the the processor would fly off and that my vitamix base would fall i stopped and dumped out the semi together dough and finished the mees of the ball by hand i was left with a lot of parts to wash and it didnt even do a good dough. I called Vitamix for guidance and the first rep was not very familiar with the product hung up called again the second rep also wasnt to familiar with product but was willing to help she mention that due to my counters being granite that was the reason for the base moving but really had no idea why the processor was so unstable. With the fact that she said that the base woukd move because of the counters i found it to be unsafe for me to keep. I dont feel that the processor is worth the price tag for it to work only in certain countertops that was not even mentioned in the description. I know i may not have used it correctly but it shouldnt be that hard and the directions should of been better written. The unit had no problems detecting the base. Very sad, but returning. 🤨

OVERRRPRICED
I bought this same attachment a couple years ago and it was $100 less plus it came with the 4 different blade types with the storage case. I would never buy this thing. at $300. What the heck is wrong with vitamix to jump the price UPWARD $100. I definitely do not recommend, its good but definitely more reasonable options available for same results.

Lots of power, easy to use
The Vitamix 12-cub food processor attachment works well with my Vitamix Ascent X2 blender base. Having one base work for both a blender and food processor saves a lot of space in my kitchen cupboards, and the Vitamix base is so much lighter than the old Cuisinart base I had before. This food processor bowl is really big, which surprised me considering how compact the X2 base is. The discs and general purpose blade are easy to attach, and like all Vitamix products, everything is easy to clean in the dishwasher. My one complaint is that I don't like how the bowl lid attaches. The clips on the side + the rubber gasket are so snug that it's a bit difficult to make sure the lid is securely attached. I always worry I will break the clips if I push too hard to get the lid to snap into place. Other than that, I'm very happy with this purchase so far.
