Many 0.5mm mechanical pencils are fine for writing and sketching. However, this one excels at those tasks, and is better for all the other aspects of use. When carried in a shirt or pants pocket, most pencils will perforate your clothing and your skin. The retractable point on this pencil makes it safer and more comfortable. The pocket clip is strong, and accommodates both thick and thin fabric. The metal body of this pencil is much stronger and more robust than similar pencils with plastic bodies. This is now my favorite pencil.

I have these all over the place now. I like using them when just writing, drawing out diagrams, and specifically for my woodworking to mark lines to cut or chisel. I especially appreciate that the pipe is retractable, as it gives the benefit and strength to the lead when you need it, but it protects it when you are done.

The click-to-retract feature is a game changer. One click of the pocket clip and the lead retracts to prevent breakage. So smart. Fit and finish is exceptional.

I love this pencil! It's a silly thing, I guess, but it makes writing much nicer. I keep one at my desk. It's got a metal body and a knurled metal grip with plastic bumps, so it's satisfying to hold but well-balanced and not uncomfortable like one of my other pencils with a full metal grip. The clip is strong (and I like the retractable tip feature), the lead is held in well and doesn't tend to break during writing, the eraser cap stays in - I have no complaints. I wish they weren't $10 each so I could have one for my bag, but I think this one was worth it.

Excellent pencil. Feels a bit heavy. The grip is more comfortable but it's not as solid to hold as the pure knurling of the cheaper graphgear 500s. The most satisfying feature is the retractable tip. Overall the best mechanical pencil I've owned.

Amazing product with comfort and grip recommended for someone who is in the feild of very detailed art work or anything related to architecture etc If you are a artist and want luxury feel and have exess money then its for you but if its your savings then i prefer stedlear pencil set
