Camera doesn't react to motion
I really wanted to like the product. I can live with the video quality, it seems Eufy compresses video so it's not amazing, but workable. The audio/mic overall is not impressive, but that's not the reason I bought it for. Installation and instructions were easy to follow. My goal was to have a cam pick up motion and record the action. This Eufy 2c Pro hardly picked up motion, human or not. There were times cats or people walking by got picked up. It was a great feeling to see and get a notification when the delivery/mailman dropped off items, but for the most part it was rare when it actually worked. I'd say it detected motion 2/9 times. What's even worse, I've tested both cameras at different hours of the day and at times No push notifications No video recordings. For an item like this and the price, not worth it. Basically it works less than half of the time, so if something happens or there's activity to capture, it probably isn't going to work. I have done all troubleshooting and followed all instructions in the forums. I have restarted the system, fully charged, set motion to MAX sensitivity, erased and formatted the device a few times. While this seemed to help, the issue eventually comes back within hours and you end up with cameras that don't react, not even when you stand in front of it and wave right back. I have experience with a different brand of camera that cost me 1/10th the price(not an exaggeration) and it works flawlessly. Of course, that cam is used for different purposes and I was enticed by the no cloud/no monthly fees with this Eufy one. I am tech savvy and while I had no issues with the set up, ultimately it's the product that fails. I'd give this a 1 out of 5 stars, but I want to make sure people know what they're getting with this product. A camera that doesn't deliver and far from a quality product. Buyer beware.

Great videos and doesn’t require a subscription
Easy to install. Great lasting batteries. I’ve had them for a few months and haven’t charged them yet. I live on a corner house which is pretty busy so they see a lot of action and they’re still going strong. Video quality is good. I have it set up for short videos but I’d like to have longer ones for when it’s needed. Also I’d like to be able to set recording times but it doesn’t have that feature that I’ve found. They’re either on or off. Notifications work great too.

Great but
These cameras are great, the quality of video and everything with the sounds is good. The issue is the battery drains so fast, we have to charge our camera every 3 weeks. And it’s said to last 4 months. We wished we would’ve gotten their solar cameras after we saw them at Costco. But we were past the return period. As well as we have it set to human only mode, but it lashes ALL MOTION notifications at night. Even though it says it won’t. Kinda weird.. despite all that. We love the cameras! They look great. They’re very discreet on our White House. Super easy to install. We just had to us our own screws because the one that came in the box were too short. Still compared to other brands, this has the best value with no monthly fees!

Exactly what I wanted. Would recommend.
Excellent for the price. I feel much safer with this system up, and the app is very easy to use. Great product. Easy to set up. Easy to maintain. Easy to use. Easy to customize and add on. I also use the Eufy front door camera system.

Great System!
quick, easy setup (within 5 minutes) and response from off to live stream is much better than my old Arlo system. - video is clear, you have the option to use IR night vision (B&W) or spotlight on for color night vision. - once the internal storage reaches its limit, you can download each clip before the system overwrite starts deleting the oldest files. This is the best feature for me as local storage lets you avoid any monthly charges for cloud storage (you still have that option if you choose to). The fact that it saves it straight to my photos on iPhone without me having to click anything else is awesome! Will update if necessary as time goes on but really liking this so far. Nice work Eufy, this oldfart isnt so grumpy anymore ;)

Camera w/ local storage but motion detection does not work well.
Cameras were brought as it is one of the few that has local storage. The camera has been in uses since Oct 2020 at first the cameras worked well but eventually it started to fail. Specially the motion detection. I had one camera indoor and the other outside. It is set to detect all motion as there are other activity that needs to be recorded outside of cars and humans. For the outside camera: * Motion detection stopped working after a period of time. * I have only gotten it to function for a short period after many adjustments of one or all of the following: - Changing sensitivity - sometime to max. - add, remove or modify Activity zone. - remove and re-add the camera. As for the inside camera it seems to have worked well with no issue. Eventually this was moved outside in a similar location as the 1st to act as a control. It too started to have motion detection problems. Some issues found with motion detection: * Worst case: with sensitivity at max but does not detect any motion. Confirmed that it was not detecting as neighbors in the back yard will not trigger camera and a 2nd camera (non eufy triggered). * Next to worst case, sensitivity at various level mid to max kept detecting rain - no other motion. * it will detect motion but recording only catches the mid to tail end of event. * Stops recording in before motion stops. The motion detection issue where it does not detect any motion has been reported to eufy. There is no fix and they blame their code needs to be improved and other variables. They offer an external motion detector to compensate for the camera's failure. This external detector can trigger the camera to record which does work; however it is not rated for outdoors and I could not find a dry place to place it and therefore it was useless. Other pro/cons of Eufy Cameras system: Cons: * Battery life drops when motion dection "fails". * Batteries need to be recharged. They do have solar now but I do not have this. * Local storage is only 16GB - should have more; USB feature is still vaporware. * When internet is down, then no access to camera or feeds even if you are on the local network. * No batch download for videos - you have to download one at a time. * 2c Pro does not come with a magnetic mount which would be easier to remove for recharging. * requires a home base which requires space and power. Also ethernet if you have it available. * No integration with smartthings or yonomi. Pros: * Wireless * Local Storage. * Very simple app. * nice integration with other eufy security devices. It would be nice if the camera can do continuous recording or timelapse snapshot but this will likely cause battery issues. Overall the image is very good but the motion detection is problematic for battery life, recordings or security.

Impeccable Hardware, Extremely Spotty Software, Deceitful Marketing
Update 5/9/2025: Eufy released a firmware update that has crushed the batteries again. Sometime back in April. I have these on solar panels and they just don't keep up anymore, even in the bright summer sun. This past winter they were kept at 95%+ at all times. But now they lose 5%+ daily even with the solar panel. Disappointed. Will have to wait for a firmware update I guess. Update - 2-29-2024: The battery life in these has improved _dramatically_ in the past year. Which is abnormal for a rechargeable device. Eufy must have done something with a firmware update to change things. We've gone several months now without having to recharge. I honestly don't remember when it was it's been so long. It used to be maybe once a month or every other. So kudos to Eufy for fixing that. I'm bumping from 2 stars to 3 stars for that fix. The rest of the information below still applies. Original 2* Review: A little background. I bought these on recommendation from family after seeing the picture quality and the lack of subscription costs. Plus I liked the idea of non-cloud and non-SD Card storage. Plus, the feature-rich app and backend looked amazing when I was testing it over at their house. Bottom Line: I can't recommended this system even if the hardware is near or at the top of the industry. As for the system, here's the full rundown: The good: I haven't seen any hardware (save for piecemeal custom systems) that matches the quality of these cameras. Really nice, crisp videos and the app is pretty decent for navigating the system. There is a bit of clunkiness but what app is perfect? The setup was very simple and got it working right away. You can tell this is Anker through and through. Rock solid hardware. The bad: The "AI" and filtering is disastrous at best. I've tried everything short of turning off motion detection to stop tripping the sensor at night every time a car drives by. I've used detection zones (which seems like it is literally just a front end to make it seem like it's doing something behind the scenes, I'm convinced this feature is just window dressing), turned down the sensitivity, changed detection modes, changed direction of the camera, rebooted, reset, everything. I get 30+ notifications every day when a car drives by. It seems like the headlights reflecting off the houses, even if you don't have the camera aimed at the street, trips the motion sensor. Similarly, the "AI" also thinks the rabbits that sometimes come around the neighborhood are humans. Like, without fail, if the rabbits are detected, it shows up as human. It also thinks our hydrangeas are humans - probably the shape of the flower clusters. It's really bad. I also liked that this integrated natively with HomeKit. Until I started using it. It's kind of lame that you downgrade to 1080 if you use HomeKit and iCloud, but I'm guessing that's a limitation by Apple. Either way, there were other features that were kind of downgrades when switching as well. I turned that off after a week of tinkering. Kind of a miss for me. The battery life is absolutely not as promised. Six months would be if you pointed this at a wall without shadows and never viewed the camera. We typically get two months out of the cameras that aren't triggered by cars and one month out of the camera that does have the car issue. Full disclosure, this is in optimal surveillance mode and not optimal battery life. But I found optimizing for battery tended to cut off videos before the motion ended. Wish there were better settings/options in the software than what they have. So all in all, the six months is not really close to what we have experienced in practice. Maybe this is still decent compared to other systems, but it wasn't as advertised. I could have lived with all of this if it weren't for the ugly below. The Ugly: This company is deceitful at best and dangerous at worst. There was a well-known flaw that existed for months that allowed someone to hold the camera reset button and it would erase all recordings for that camera on the home base, basically defeating the idea of even having it in the first place. Worse yet, they have a problem with the backend where it can possibly expose your camera to anyone with the URL for it. No security, no logins, etc. In fairness, I believe they have finally started to patch these flaws but they continuously lied about them or ignored them for weeks and months. I really wish this had come to light before I bought the system. I trusted Anker and Eufy and this has really put a massive dent in their reputation for me. I don't understand why Anker would trash their hard-earned reputation like this. Further, Eufy has promised several features and compatibility upgrades for their products only to forget about them or sell those upgrades as new hardware and give you a pittance of a coupon to upgrade. Just deceitful marketing practices. Shame on me though for believing them and not waiting to buy until they made those upgrades. I can't in good conscience recommend this system or any of the other Eufy lines. I'm not sure I could recommend them even if they patched the security flaws and provided the upgrades to the existing hardware as promised. If they had been open and forthright about the issues and proactively addressed them, I could have been convinced and they'd get a recommendation with the caveats about motion. I want to add a couple of other sensors and a couple of cameras, but I've been looking at other brands for both.
