Quail love this!
My intentions were to feed the quail with this. I have ground feeders but the squirrel gobble it up so fast then the Quail get left out. I love this because if for some reason I don't get out to fill the feeders , the block last a fairly long time so I know there's always seed out there. However, bunnies loves this too as well as a large variety of other birds. And that's why I love this even more. I am able to feed not only Quail but other birds and wildlife. Mr. Squirrel attempted to pull the entire block back home but finally gave up. This way of feeding with this compressed block of seed works well for me.

Quail block feeder
I put this out a couple of days ago and it took some time for them to figure it out. I have a couple of Quail that show up but mostly doves and Wrens. They finally figured it out and are putting some dents in it. I was worried about ants getting into it because I set it on the ground in a wooden feeder. But so far so good. No ants. This was a good purchase. As soon as they finish it I will get another.

Birds like it
It is a nice size and quail and doves like it. I would recommend improving packaging. It is just placed in a box larger than the seed ball without any extra protection. It allows the seed ball to be jostled and quite a bit of the seed to break apart and you have a mess in the box on opening. I like that I can put it out without having to add seed every day. Usually lasts about 2 - 2 1/2 weeks. I had hoped it would last longer with the size.

Attracts visitors
I have yet to see the two quail I have seen out here take advantage of the free food but cotton tails and doves like it. I also get visitors that take advantage of it.

I have a hit
This was heavy to drag out to my front yard. So far, I’ve had every kind of bird and animal feeding on this and it has lasted a log time. Quail, of course, but other birds such as cardinals, woodpeckers, sparrows and others. Rabbits come and chew on it and I’ve had a couple of squirrels. The mourning doves clean up the ground around it. It has been fun to watch from my kitchen window and I will definitely buy another one when this is gone.

The packaging for shipping
The product is great since Walmart has discontinued the Quail block this year. But the packaging that this is shipped in is poor quality. The boxes are not study enough and the shipper had to retape the boxes for the completion of shipping.
