Great quality product definitely recommend.

These pencils are everything that everyone else has said about them. The leads are all smooth with the exception of the 9H pencil which tends to be scratchy rather than light. The variety of tones in this set is quite adequate. They lay down their values on paper well and blend well. They arrived more quickly than expected and in excellent condition. I have not experienced any broken leads within the wood shaft of the pencils as others have complained. All in all a great brand and a highly desirable product. I will and have purchased Dervent products again.

I am grateful to have found these pencils. They ate not sold in art supply stores near me. Only the grade B sizes. Personally I find grade B pencils hard to work with. Just my preference to use the H grade of pencil they don't smear when the paper gets wet if working out side in the rain.

It's nice that the pencils came pre sharpened. It's my first time buying Pencil other than the regular ones. I just learned recently that I can use the opposite end for shading!! It would be more presentable if the pencils are locked in place so they won't move too much around the case.

Perfect for creating glass, subtle highlights, white or light grey colors. Starting out your new piece or finishing up another one. Hard pencils wear slowly, they are not scratchy and do not harm the paper. The feel in your hand is good, the points last depending up the hardness.

This pencil set is great. It's hard to find a complete set of the harder pencils in art stores around where I live. This set gives you all of them for a decent price. Great set for those that like to sketch using the harder pencils. As someone new to sketching and drawing this set was a great buy.

It has all the pencils my wife needs for drawing!

Like others have mentioned these pencils are scratchy. The harder (lighter) set really amplifies that issue. I also didn't really notice much difference in tone between pencils. I have other sets (Prismas, Tom Bow and Staedler for instance) that have a smooth lay down in the H pencils.

Je suis contente de mon achat, j'ai commandé la boite de 12 graphic dans les teintes les plus claires, pour pouvoir faire des croquis facilement gommable, et c'est parfait. La mise est dur, le crayon solide. Reçu dans les temps et en parfait état, je recommande

Achetés parce que j'avais besoin d'un éventail de mines dures pour travailler l'hyperréalisme au crayon graphiste. C'est un avis très subjectif mais je les trouve moins agréables à utiliser que les Faber Castell, moins doux Ce qui me déplaît chez Derwent c'est qu'ils se targuent de faire des fournitures pour artistes mais on ne trouve rien qui fasse haut de gamme dans leurs produits. Pas de livret dans les boîtes expliquant les diverses possibilités du produit. Quand aux crayons eux même, ils sont simplement noirs avec un trait rouge... bof quand on est un accro aux crayons d'art ;)

I've had an old set with HB, 3B, 6B, and 9B Derwent pencils for years and recently purchased the set of hard pencils (9H-B) for a portrait. My only complaint is that the 9H, 8H, and 7H all had clay spots from the beginning, and when I made a reference chart of the pencil shades I had to press so hard to get them to leave any mark at all that they dented the (60lb) paper quite severely. I haven't used the 9H or 7H since, but I managed to sharpen the 8H past the large clay spot (I tried sandpaper first but the spot was too large) and it worked fine until I ran into another hard spot I had to sharpen out. I also ran into a small one with the HB pencil after a short time. I may just have very unfortunate luck as others don't seem to be finding as many hard spots as I am, but if you want a pencil that you never have to worry about clay spots with these may not be for you. When there aren't hard scratchy patches to deal with the pencils are quite nice. I like that they come in a metal case, though as I accidentally learned one day it won't stay closed if dropped on the ground. I also find the pencils slide out of their spots a bit when the case is tilted, so while they stay in order they won't stay with the label facing up after being carried around if you're particular about that.
