Brilliant Flour
So, the one thing I've learned after getting this GIGANTIC bag of flour is that most of the flour you get in corner shops or cheaper supermarkets is TRASH. Getting proper baker's flour has let me appreciate just how fine a quality bakers get. This flour isn't filled with anti-caking agents or self-raising agents, or preservatives. It's just very fine milled, high quality white flour. I got a large bag of yeast, and have been making perfect bread after perfect bread with it. The flour is so finely milled you only need to knead the bread for about 2 to 4 minutes, whereas with "strong flour" or the "00" flour you get sometimes you'll be kneading it for upwards of 10 minutes to get the consistency you need. This flour just soaks up the moisture and goes through the dry/sloppy/sticky/stringy/gluey/doughey stages in a matter of just a few minutes. It takes a WEE bit of practice to know how to make bread, so although this amazing bread you won't necessarily bake artisanal bread from day 1. However you won't be able to do much better than this when you DO start getting really good. So, on the quantity, 16 Kilos is a LOT. Each loaf will need about 500g of flour, so you're looking at 32 loaves' worth here. Keeping this much flour clean and dry in a house is possible, but needs care. So I've decanted a lot of it into plastic tubs to keep in the fridge, or in jars, and have been using the flour left in the bag to make my loaves so far. This is GREAT flour, and you'll make great bread, buns, cakes and cupcakes with it!

Value for money during covid-19
Absolute bargain. Can't find any flour around where I live, and as a key worker, working hours are such that shopping is usually at a time after everyone and their brother has been. I didn't know Amazon sold such a huge quantity until I checked out of curiosity. Fab stuff, great for bread and cakes alike and baking things always works out cheaper than buying ready made stuff with a bunch of preservatives and sugar in them, which is why I was seeking it out. Works out at around £1.69 a kilo (at time of writing) which is impressive. Nice to be able to finally bake things at the weekend or leave a loaf in the bread machine during the day when I'm at work. Equally, it comes well packaged, as described (literally as the user review pictures show) and incredibly quickly. As usual, Amazon staff are fantastic and the service is second to none, especially so during these covid-19 times.

Makes nice bread
Due to non-availability of bread flour, took a punt and ordered this instead. It seems to be great quality, fine and soft - I'm sure it will make nice cakes and biscuits too. It made a lovely loaf in my breadmaker (I used the French bread setting as the rise time is longer). Didn't rise quite as much as a loaf made with bread flour (to be expected) but difference is marginal, and it tastes great. It comes in a heavy-duty paper sack. I also bought a 30 litre storage bin, the Oipps one - you can put the whole bag in without opening it. You could do without a container though. EDIT: many weeks later, still very happy with this flour. Just to reiterate, you CAN use this in a bread maker - results are, frankly, excellent. So if you need an all-purpose flour, look no further!

The Good White Stuff at last
As a keen baker before lockdown I tried on countless shopping trips in lockdown to buy flour to no avail. Flour had now become the priceless commodity and no where to be had. I gave up, until my colleague told me I could get a big 16kg bag of plain flour on Amazon. I thought what the heck at least I wont have to go in search of flour for a long while. I ordered the flour and and a 27 litre food safe bucket to store it in. The order said 10 days delivery but the flour arrived much quicker than that about 5 days later which was great. The quality is great, and it has a best before date of 1 year so have enough time to get through it. My pastry and cakes are better than ever. Dunno if its the flour or having a bit more time in lockdown to actually make quality pastry. Will definitely buy this size again.

Highly recommended!!
Amazing value. Immediately made bread rolls which turned out perfectly (made by hand not a bread maker so can't vouch for that) securely packed in heavy paper bag, I felt sorry for the poor delivery man staggering down the path. The sack was decanted into the flour bin and four very large Tupperware contains which will go in the pantry. The use by date is over a year so no more carrying heavy bags from the shop! The next test will be a sponge cake adding baking powder for the rise. I am delighted with both the quality and the price of this flour.

Consistently Good Results
This flour is great value and it consistently produces lovely biscuits, pastry and cakes. I usually buy another brand in 16kg sacks but the recent surge in demand meant I couldn’t get any, which lead me to trying this great flour. For sponge cakes I simply add my own raising agents, which is a method I’ve used for years to avoid buying and storing SR flour, plus this provides a more consistent result. This flour is now a firm favourite and will buy again if Heygates continue supplying consumers.

Bulk Flour Convenience - Great Price
Can't say much it's flour obviously, but it's a good price and great quality. First purchased during lockdown madnesss when none was available in stores. To be honest i can't imagine buying small 1kg bags ever again. Great for all baking and recently discovered it (and any Plain Flour) makes Bread just as good as strong bread flour in my Panasonic breadmaker. Just add a drop more yeast and sugar. It is indistinguishable than the expensive strong flours.
