Mandatory for marine electronics
My marine instrument's cables use 24awg wire which has caused me all sorts of stripping and connection problems. This stripping tool is mandatory as my Klein stripper only works to 22 awg. Works perfectly every time.

Does a good job with 24 AWG stranded conductor
I am installing cameras that run on 24 AWG, stranded wire. 2 conductors in a protective sheath. The stripper easily strips the protective sheath and does a good job of stripping the insulation off the conductors. Upon first use I found some of the copper strands were cut along with the insulator but with practice it became easy to strip without cutting any strands of the conductor. Using a gentle squeeze works best. Make sure the wire is not bent as that requires a harder pull to move the insulator. Right out of the box operation of the tool is a bit clunky but after a couple of dozen pulls the operation smoothed out. I tested on a variety of conductor sizes, both stranded and solid, and found that extra care is only required on the 24 AWG. The rest are a simple insert and squeeze in a carefree operation. This is a good quality and very light tool and it won't weigh your tool belt down.I predict that it will become a favorite!

Looks cheap, but worth every penny!
This is the perfect wire stripper for 18-22 gauge wire! When only needing a 1/16” - 1/8” amount of wire for soldering this little gun makes it so easy. Just set the gauge and put the wire in. Squeeze and release. Easy enough and literally takes that small amount of time to get quick consistent wire strips.

Pretty good for the tasks I need it for
I got this stripper after spending months using a fancier one, primarily because I'm left-handed, and the premium strippers (at least the one I have) are designed for right-hand use. Despite being plastic, it has a durable feel to it. I can also strip most types and gauges of wire with it - some other strippers might not do so well with tiny gauge wire, teflon insulation wire, some solid-core wire, and so on. I also like that it has a locking mechanism that makes it more compact when you're not using it, because the grip has a pretty wide spread, to give a good mechanical advantage. The locking mechanism can be easily toggled with one hand, which is nice, too. My complaints are kind of minor. the 'gap tooth' setup that grabs the insulation feels a little crude at times, and the device for setting the amount of insulation that's removed is worthless for my needs - it's either too long, or stupidly too long. Admittedly, I use it for very fine electronics work, with smaller gauge wire, and I only need about 3/8" bare wire at max. It's pretty easy to eyeball it for removing about 1/4" or so, but it would be nice to just slide the wire in and always remove the same (minimum) amount of insulation. Prior to this stripper and the fancy one that I have, I was just using the cheap strippers that Harbor Freight carries (their bottom-of-the-line model, if they have more than one). This thing is way better, and worth every additional penny. If you're left-handed, this stripper becomes a better choice than some of the more premium ones. Also, the plastic construction and lighter weight makes using this one a bit less of a chore, if you do fine electronics work.

Looks like good quality.
Can’t use the old pliers type stripper due to my recent hand surgery. This pistol type stripper looks like the solution to my problem. I do a variety of electrical work. Like the long nose to get into tight places.

Highly Recommend
Great design and well built tool! I love this wire stripper and is my go to for any tinkering projects. Works very well and is much faster than traditional stripping

Great For Small Gauge Wires, Not Good For Heavy Gauge. Limited Depth.
Works as advertised on small gauge and fine wires. Quick and clean. When working with heavier gauge speaker and electrical wire, this tool did not provide a clean strip even once. Had to resort to a rotary stripper. Also, the amount of insulation that can be removed is limited to about 3/4". If you're removing insulation to crimp on deep connectors or reveal a pair of wires for something like banana plugs/speaker terminals, this stripper does not remove enough insulation. The build is a little shaky, too. It's mostly plastic. Not super solid/metal like a pro-grade tool.

I have several wire strippers and use several of them on a somewhat regular basis, even though I'm a DIY-er. But since I received this stripper several months ago, it is my "go-to" stripper for most applications. It works very well on most wire sizes except perhaps 24 ga or smaller. It is so easy to use and does a great job. Certainly recommend.
