This switch was exactly as described, it was easy to install, and it works great. Buying from Amazon saved money versus buying the exact same switch from Home Depot, so great value for the money.

Just installed two heat pumps this weekend that each have 5 KW Aux heat units installed. I needed separate shutoff switches for these circuits and they are 220 volt / 30 amp circuits. These switches worked well for this and I liked that they have a red toggle which is easy to identify as the one for the Aux heat source in the system. Am pleased with the order.

Heavy Duty Switch well built

The switch turns a 1 hp motor connected to a heavy load on and off. An identical switch failed after two years. I hope this one lasts longer.

Added this to turn on and off power to a water heater. When we leave for vacation we turn off the water and now we can turn off the water heater. Works great!

Good quality. I have it switching both poles of a 5kw resistive load and it has been holding up fine.

Works great. I know as much about electricity as I do brain surgery. Once I googled and talked to a neighbour about the wiring it was quite easy. I was able to open the fuse panel and install this with little problem, (after I confirmed the right way), "MAKE SURE YOU SHUT OFF THE MAIN BREAKER!!!" My neighbour said the switch seemed forgiving in case you do hook it up wrong. That is it won't blow up or something like that. I will take his word, I hooked it up right!! Woo-hoo. A little pricey, but very hard to find in Canada and still the cheapest I could find was Amazon. Apparently when you get into this 30 amp/240 volt stuff it's all expensive. I can attest to that just for the price of 10 feet of 10 gauge 10/2 wire and a 30 amp double pole breaker. (Don't let that last sentence impress you! That's all I know and only because I had to pay for and hook this stuff up. Still better at brain surgery!)

Bought it for a shop heater in my cabin... Only draws 16 amps, but this works as expected.
