Great switch, easy to do
This really is a double-pole switch. Most switches cut power from one side or the other, this one does both lines. If you can strip wire, you can install this switch. There is no "winding" of wires, just inserting. Open the switch and unscrew the four screws over where the wires go. Split the wire less than 1" and strip just a little of each side of the wire (about 1/8") and insert them into the openings below two of the four screws. Tighten the screws and the connection is made. As you split, strip, and insert the other end, be sure you keep the sides right. This is easy if the wires have color. I tried to use 12 gauge wire but the insulation was too thick to fit through the openings. I am using this for a 12V DC system. This is why I ordered the switch with no LED indicator. I figured the light would only work on house current (AC). Some of the other reviews of the switch with the LED may be using it the wrong direction or it may be the wrong voltage. I did not need an indicator so I ordered and installed the switch with no light.

Perfect!
Easy to install. Works as should. Just keep track of your wires when installing. Took 15 min to add two switches. My project- separating a pair of lamps the previous owner spliced and combined into one plug. I added another plug to one and this was better than electrical tape, heat shrink, soldering, wire nuts, etc. Especially since they didn't have an on/off switch of any kind.

Saved A Lamp
Used this to fix my moms face mirror that has an integrated light. The switch they included had the circular click type switch that had cracked and was falling apart but it was weirdly rated at 6 amps. Most of the replacement ones you can find of that style switch are 3 amps so I didn't want to have an issue and got this one. You'll need to do a wire cut, strip, and secure to get this to work. Just make sure you match the wires (one is positive, one is negative - one will have an extra stripe on it to differentiate it). This switch works great! The only minor issue/improvement I could recommend to the manufacturer is that I wish there was some sort of strain guard like foam or something where the wires go in/out as it's kind of open and lets the cord move a bit. You could fix it by adding some electrical tape there or something similar yourself. My worry would be that over time it may cause the frail thin stranded wires most of these appliances have to fray and come lose over time. If that happens, I'll update the review.

It can be wired 2 different ways
I really like the idea of having an LED attached to the switch. I wired it so the LED is always on to assist in finding the switch in the dark. You can wire it so the LED is only on when the switch is on. It's pretty simple to wire. You'll need a #1 Phillips screwdriver, wire strippers and box knife. If you don't have wire strippers, the box knife will do. Step 1: Split the wires down the middle 1 inch. Easy way is to start the split with the box knife then pull them apart until you get to 1 inch. Be careful not to cut into the copper wire strands under the sheathing. Step 2: Strip 3/8 inch of sheathing off each wire and bend the copper wire making a 90 degree angle. This helps when putting the wires into the connectors. Step 4: Remove the 2 screws on the back of the switch and separate the switch. NO parts will fall out! Step 5: Unscrew the 4 copper screws in the terminals until you can see the holes where the wires get installed. Do not remove them. Step 6: Determine if you want the LED always on or not. If you want it always on then install the wires from the plug on the side of the switch that has the LED. Doing this will bring electricity to the LED before it gets to the switch. Install in reverse if you only want the LED on when the switch is on. Step 6: The switch is marked L & N corresponding with the Line terminals and the Neutral terminals. You'll find ribs on one side of the wire sheathing. The wire on the ribbed side is Neutral. Smooth side is Line. Install the ribbed side into the N terminal and tighten the screw. Install the smooth side into the L terminal and tighten the screw. Repeat on the other side. Final Step: Push the split wires over the screw holes in the switch so that the wires lay flat in the provided notch. Replace the back of the switch and screw together. Note the window should be placed over the LED. Please let me know if you found this review helpful.

Great product, perfect replacement for crappy wheel switches
These are VERY nice switches. They seem to be pretty well water-sealed (I am not a water seal expert), and the connecting scheme is extremely secure. I despise the cheap "wheel" switches that are common on cheap lamps, and these guys make a world of difference. You'll need to be prepared to trim the power cord and strip a little insulation off 4 cable ends, but with basic tools it's not at all difficult.

Worked perfectly
We added these Inline Cord switches so we could turn on/off our under counter Philip Hue Lightstrip lights. Sometimes it is just easier to use the switch vs. voice command. We put the switch inline with an extension cord that runs to the undercabinet lightstrip, and we have the Philip Hue lightstrip set to use the last color setting after it is turned off/on. These switches were exactly what we wanted. They do have a bit of click noise to them when you turn on/off, but that was preferable for us. The switch is good quality and the screws to keep the cover closed and the screws for the connections inside all seemed to be good quality. I had to take one switch apart ~5 times (my error, not the switches fault) and the switch stood up to multiple openings/closings without issue. The screws seemed to go in tight every time. We added double sided tape to the back, and currently have these underneath our overhead kitchen cabinets.

Wiring was all done correctly but the on/off switch doesn’t always work- tends to not stay in the on position

I have 2 nightstand lamps which are only 3 years old and the switch to turn them on somehow self destructed on both of them. They had the switch with the wheel that you need to turn. Anyways, there was no way I was going to replace the lamps, so I ordered these replacement switches. They're easy to install and work great. The lamps are like new again, even better than before!

Belle construction, fonctionne tres bien.

A little pricey but made very well - I don't anticipate ever having to replace this switch. Ease of installation would be fine in most cases - I was limited in my access to replace the switch.
