Albert's Fruit Chews - Assorted Flavors (240 Candies)

My favorite chubby girl purchase. Warning these candies are addictive, I eat the entire bag within 2 days. They are hard to find in the store so I come to Amazon to order them all year long. Juicy flavors and the right amount of chewiness without sticking to your teeth.

This is my favorite candy. I like to take them to work.

Update: I had to change my review to a better rating than I initially gave this candy. I found out that there was a flavor that tasted bad, but not all. I'm an honest person and can admit when I was incorrect. That said, I am not a professional reviewer and this is my honest review of this item. This candy is authentically good and taste like how I remember it BUT I hate the grape flavor and it seems like there is more grape pieces than I'd like in the bag. Overall, this was a good buy from the seller. I'm leaving my initial review, below, only to show that I've honestly changed my review once I found out it was my taste, not the item's quality. First review: I grew up eating this candy. So I know what it should taste like. I actually purchased this same type of candy from another seller on Amazon, prior to purchasing from this seller, and the candy from the other seller was good. However, I thought I'd save a couple of bucks and buy a bag of chews from this seller this time. Unfortunately, that was a mistake. I will not purchase candy from this seller anymore because the bag of chews I received tasted off in flavor and the texture was weirdly too soft-almost like soft gum but not taffy-like how chews are supposed to taste. I guess I received a bad batch but I won't purchase this type of candy from this seller again.

I love this penny candy as my grandma would call it.

This was my second order placed and I was not so happy this time. First order was really good and soft which made me order again. This time the candy was hard.

This is the exact same "penny candy" that I used to buy as a kid! The flavor and texture are still the same after all these years. This candy is very addictive! The texture of this candy is not suppose to be soft. You toss it around your mouth to gnaw on it, flatten it out with your teeth and let it become malleable. Don't bite down hard on this candy, just gently gnaw on it. Imagine trying to soften up clay with your hands, it's sort of like that. This assortment has six flavors: strawberry, peach, grape, blue raspberry, wild cherry, green apple. This candy is delicious! I am super impressed that this is the same old fashioned candy and they haven't changed the recipe. Just take your time to savor the flavors!

Candy hard a crumbles when you try and eat them not edible and you aren't able to return! DO NOT BUY!

As a kid I used to get these candies in my bag every year when I trick-or-treated, but I could never find them anywhere no matter how much I looked. I've only ever seen them sold at a couple of gas stations in Louisiana, loose at that, and nowhere else. It has always been a mystery to me where people were getting them around Halloween, since absolutely nobody seemed to sell them locally. That being said, these things are really tasty and addictive. When I ordered my first bag from Amazon, after not having any in years, I ended up eating so many in one sitting that I got sick from all the sugar, so definitely eat these sparingly. Next time I run out, I think I will order a bag of the blue raspberry ones.
