Overview The AIRPLATE A3 is a 16 by 16 cm metal grille that can be installed into cabinets and walls to help increase ventilation. It can also be used in conjunction with a fan system to act as a passive intake or exhaust vent. The kit includes an optional 120mm fan guard and hardware to secure a 120mm fan, the most popular size for computers and DIY applications, onto the grille. To mount your fan and grille into your cabinet or wall, you would need to cut a square hole approximately 12.7 by 12.7 cm. Features a CNC machined aluminum frame with a brushed black finish; pre secured to a steel honeycomb grille with four screws. Information on the additional included hardware can be found below Hardware Includes four wood screws and four machine screws with nuts to mount the ventilation grille onto a cabinet or wall. Also includes four 3.2 cm long machine screws with nuts to mount a 120 mm fan with the included 120mm fan guard onto the ventilation grille. Review: Got two of these for the amps in my car. They live under the false floor where things can get toasty fast. Before using these to mount 2 120mm fans (intake and exhaust) the amps were getting extremely hot to the point where I could not keep my hand on them for more than 1 second. After using these with the fans, the amps just get warm even after an hour of play time. I used these in conjunction with two Corsair ML120 Pro fans for their super quiet operation even at full tilt. Connected pos and neg together on both fans and ran that into a single pigtail connector (for easy removal of necessary), which ran into the relay used to provide a switched 12v signal for the amps and dsp's. Fit and finish of these grills are on point. They look sleek and yet are very sturdy for a great price. They come with lots of screws for different applications. Will use these again in future builds! Review: Plain-ish, brushed aluminium, black works as advertised. The 'mesh' is a little rough in a couple of places where it was "stamped and formed" but all in all good. For me, in my home theater, it was a good fit. I really appreciated the fan grill and extra nuts/bolts ... pushed it to 5 stars. Well done! Be aware, this is a nice looking, functional piece of kit; however, I would not call it elegant. i.e. if I installed it in a visible place in the living room, my wife would have a few words for me.
