Pirate Sword

Received my sword and I thought it looked great - very realistic looking. Nice and heavy weight. This is not a toy. The point of Sword is very sharp as well as the blade. The emblems that are on the sword as well as on the scabbard are very pirate cool. this will be great for my pirate costume. I did have a small issue with the bottom metal part of scabbard part coming off. It was easily glued back on, but customer service still gave me a little discount back to me which at least ending up paying for my shipping. In these times, finding a company willing to stand behind their product is rare. I would purchase again from this company just knowing I can count on their customer service people to make it right.

This sword is well made and a good value for the price, it has an unsharpened edge and meant for display or acting which it would do well for both if I had to complain I would point out the knurled handle that does not look period at all and intend to wrap with leather or other suitable material but overall it is what it claims to be and there for meet my expectations It was bought for a Halloween costume and made sense when you look at the prices of plastic swords one like this is a no brainer

I was unlucky enough to receive a sword with a prominent seam along the handguard which ruined the appearance of the sword from certain angles (I returned it and ordered a different sword from the same company), however: the sword itself was pretty high quality in terms of construction. Good weight and balance, sturdy construction, and would probably be fine to display if it could be hung with the seam facing away from the viewer (although that would also obscure the detailing of the handguard, which is less than ideal for display). As advertised, the blade was not sharpened, but the tip was a bit pointy and may need to be buffed down depending on the sword's intended use. All in all, despite the cosmetic defect, I'd call this a reasonably high-quality piece, especially for the price. (I would assume the seam was the kind of one-off issue that occurs in all factories from time to time, and only didn't reorder the same item because it was a gift for a preadolescent whose mother might not have thanked me for giving her child a sword featuring a stylized carving of a female who doesn't so much have a breast with a nipple as she has a very prominent udder, lol. That doesn't bug me personally, but mileage varies on these issues and it was much more obvious in person than it was from the pictures online. Under other circumstances, I would have been perfectly happy reordering the exact same item and been comfortable that the replacement wouldn't have the same flaw.)

The finish is good, the blade is stainless as advertised, they could have put the "China" stamp on the backside, but, all is well, I'll hang it on my wall in the sheath. The frog that came with it was unexpectedly better quality than I thought it would be. Just for info, this is a prop, it's real metal, it'll last a lifetime, but it's not a real weapon. In a pinch, you could bludgeon someone with it in self defense, but this is not a fencing sword, but I believe the tang goes all the way through. By the way, It's not a mermaid, it's a Ship's Figurehead. The netting around her would be to catch falling sailors in the bow, she's sitting on the prow of a sailing vessel. Very nice, great for the amount asked.

Want to feel like you can start to conquer the Seven Seas? Strap this on and plot your pillaging! Very solid and sturdy sword- a blunted edge, but certainly NOT a toy. And the way that it rings a solid “clink” when you slide it into the scabbard is very satisfying- you will want to draw it and house it over and over! Very impressed with the item, huge upgrade to my pirate costume. And you’ll feel like you could hack and slash your way through whatever life throws your way. (The scabbard top needed a few drops of super glue to secure, didn’t diminish from my satisfaction one bit)?

I bought this swod for pirate costume, and it is amazing. I am fascinated with this purchase, it is very realistic, it has no dangerous edge, but it must be handled with care since it is rigid and the tip sharp. I recommanded the product, has not been disassembled at the moment. Greetings from Mexico city.

As the title says, DO NOT BUY the frogger!! It is utterly useless—broke upon very first use and sword fell out ruining beautiful craftsmanship, chipping blade and scuffing the handle. The blade itself came prestige and was very of any marks. There was a weird line running down th design of the guard but the sword was beautiful. I paid for the kit with the frogger, which cost me the beauty of my brand new sword. The lace was very brittle and snapped when I first went to tie the sword in—this should have been my warning sign. However I tied it a bit looser and went to try out my costume. I was able to wear it for about 10 minutes before I kept noticing the sword was slipping and leaning to much almost sliding out. I looked and noticed the frogger was peeling and splitting so I walked back towards the house. As soon as I approached the door more of the lace snapped making the scabbard loose enough to slide forward and the handle of the sword pulling it out of the scabbard and hitting the ground and falling down to the ground chipping the blade. I am pretty disappointed as it happened within moments of first use. The sword would have been worth it but the kit was a horrible experience.

You never know when you might go looking for buried treasure on a ship of sea dogs, thieves, and drunken sailors. for that your gonna need a pirate sword. If you cant tell already I just bought this because I liked it, and I thought it would be a good prop for my pirate themed bathroom. As for quality it's not for the discerning collector, the handle is made from a combination of metal and plastic (a heavy grade plastic), its not balanced, but still light weight, it's built tough and holds together very strong... 4 stars for being a great inexpensive beginners sword. -1 star for not being professional grade. I hope this helps you. it's a fun great piece for the price and an excellent beginners sword. I recommend buying the leather holster suggested by amazon and you are gonna need a belt to wear it. I think I might take mine to the Maryland Renaissance Festival in October. I'll see you there!!!
