International Building Code 2009

I work in the safety industry and the 2009 IBC is a great resource to make sure I provide accurate and factual information for people prior to building inspections. There is obviously a TON of info in the code so it can be confusing, but the code is quite navigable. The standards are laid out in a way that is pretty easy to follow and prevents "information overload". Its also pretty easy to understand. There isn't too much technical jargon that would confuse some people who aren't involved with the topics on a daily basis. Overall a great resource for anyone in construction, safety, facility management, engineering, or architecture.

I don't think anyone purchases this book because they want to - clearly it is an essential reference manual for anyone in the architecture and construction industries. That said, I've muddled throughout the hard-copy of the IBC before...UGH! For my own office use, I opted to purchase the kindle version for my I-pad and it's amazing how much easier it is to use! All of the chapters and internal refrences are hot-linked and the entire thing is searchable!

No issues with book it is in excellent condition although I am not looking forward to reading it it will be an excellent reference.

1st time buying a CD version of a code book. I'll never buy another printed book. Lover this thing! Search function and the ability to cut and paste are very useful. One thing that had me worried, prior to buying this, was I thought I would have to use the CD every time I needed to view the code book. You do not! PDF version of the code book installs like a normal program. After entering the serial number etc. you don't have to use the CD again. Looking into replacing all my code books with similar products.

It is the 2009 IBC what do you think it will say. It gives out the codes you have to follow for designing and building a building in this country. The greatest country in the world with the safest buildings in the world because of our building codes. They don't fall in earthquakes like a lot of them do around the world. It is strict but it needs to be for safety.

great book, just the one needed to get started if you looking to move forward in your career. For the general public it will take understanding of building but for those in the trade a must have to keep on top of changes in building. A bit vague in areas but you catch on the more you study it.

I passed the PE with a little help from the IBC. The IBC is pretty easy to follow. I did not use it when studying but during the actual test I had to use it. Like I said, it's pretty easy to use.

i needed it for the California seismic PE exam. i would DEFINITELY bring this book (or whatever version they're now recommending you have) to the exam. you'll need it! it's basically useless after the test, and i wouldn't use it unless i absolutely had to in my job.
