Compact little modem, solid connection and speeds.
Just got this modem to replace our Comcast rental modem and eliminate the rental fees. Got it connected and up and running without problems. I got the refurbished model, and so far, so good. Modems are very reliable hardware, so chances are if the refurbished one works out of the box, it will keep working for a long time. I am getting my advertised speeds of 30 Mbps without any problems or hickups. PRO's: - Easy to set up and activate (just plug it in and activate via Comcast activation website or phone) - Getting advertised speeds of 30Mbps on my line, solid connection - Small form factor, can stow it away behind a book shelf easily. - Works with most cable ISP's - Good price if you get it refurbished. CON's: - Really none so far, solid modem.

BEWARE, Comcast may not improve your speed. But this is a GREAT product.
Works great, no problems. Easy setup. Just plug it in and call comcast with the id numbers on the label, but the numbers are in really SMALL print. It was setup within an hour. HOWEVER, speed did not increase over by Docsis 2.0 modem, using COMCAST. They had been pestering me for months about how much better a docsis 3.0 modem is, it wasn;t I was currently getting 30 mbps with an old docsis 2.0, but the performance package from Comcast had been upgraded to 50 mbps. The local representative said that the speed was guaranteed UP to 50, not that I would get 50!! So I upgraded to blast for free for 30 days, up to 150 mbps, instead I got 95 mbps consistently, with this SAME modem. So my modem is obviously not a problem, it is just that Comcast throttles down the speed to 30 no matter if you have docsis 3.0 or not. Solution is to go to your store and ask "What are your customers getting?" or rent their modem for a month. If the speed doesnt increase, then demand a refund and refund their modem. If it does increase, then buy this modem to replace the rented modem. PS Even my router a Linksys EAA6200 is performing better, less drops.

Works well with Cox Communications
I bought this cable modem prior to switching over to Cox Communications. The cable modem works well and the speed I’m getting is about 200Mbps with a 300Mbps subscription. I haven’t had any issues since installation but during the installation the installer ran into a hiccup when they said the cable modem needed to be released from a previous registration. It was resolved and I was up and running. This review asked for a wi-if rating. I have one star for that aspect as this cable modem does not provide WiFi by itself, a separate router or access point would be required for that...

Works better than Comcast Modem...No drops so far.
Working great so far. Followed hookup instructions but did have to call Comcast/Xfinity to get it working. Was no big deal only took like five minutes on the phone with somebody that (believe it or not) spoke clear English and knew what they were doing. Luckily when I got this it was on an Amazon deal for only $72.00 in black. Now the price of the black model has skyrocketed. In 7 months it will pay for itself for me and have not had the dropouts that the Comcast supplied modem would have. Would certainly recommend this to replace the cable company supplied modems. PS: Someone said this modem is an EOL (end of life) modem for Comcast. NOT TRUE. Call Comcast to verify. What they want to eliminate are the 2.0 modems. This is the new DOCSIS 3.0 and was confirmed by 2 different techs this is not an EOL model. See this xfinity link.... [...]

I WOULD BUY IT AGAIN.
I was wanting to upgrade to a faster modem than my Surfboard SB6121, so I got this SB6141, which is supposed to be double the speed. Hooked it up and activated it today (with Time Warner Cable). I hardwired my Mac to this modem with an ethernet cable to see if I got what I paid for (I bought it used from a 3rd party through Amazon), so that I could do a true speed test. The modem is receiving its signal through a 2-way splitter, and the modem was exceeding 260 mbps on the download Time Warner speed test--I am pleased. Now I am matched with my 300 mbps router, and my 300 mbps internet service. Unfortunately, what I didn't understand, until today, is that my wi-fi router would butcher it down to 94 mbps, on the 5G router network. The 2.4 router network was slower. However, for me, 94 mbps through wi-fi is pretty fast. I like this modem because it is fairly small and compact, light in weight, color coordinates with all of my other equipment, and it works just like it is supposed to. It is advertised as up to 343 mbps/131 mbps on the upload, but the magic words are "up to", and those speeds are probably "dreaming". Time Warner tech support said that if I was getting 94 mbps through wi-fi, that I was doing great. For people like me who want to keep the router and the modem in separate units, this is a good way to go. I see in these reviews, some people are talking about modems that are not the SB6141, and why they are included in the reviews I don't understand. THIS MODEM DOES NOT HAVE A ROUTER INCLUDED IN IT.

Over 1 year with no problems and consistent speeds.
I have been using this modem for 1 year and 4 months, so far, with no issues. I unplug it once a month to let it have a breather but that may not even be necessary. I've been using it with Comcast Xfinity 100Mbps in Fort Myers, FL. My data speeds have been good, very few connection issues and there has rarely been any downtime. Any downtime I've had was related to Comcast, not this modem. All I had to do was plug it in, call Comcast and it was working fine. I use this with my own Google OnHub Router made by TP-Link and they've had zero connection issues in nearly 1.5 years. I highly recommend this modem and cannot find anything I dislike about it.

So far so good. Plugged it in on a new Lightspeed.ca 75MB service in Victoria BC and works flawlessly. Tests at over 80MB/s. Gives me the joyful opportunity to give the overpriced Shaw service the heave ho.

Great quality modem. I'm using it with Lightspeed ISP (Canadian), it gets the advertised up /download speeds so everything is working well. I've had it a few months now and haven't had any issues along the way.

I switched from an ADSL provider to a third party Cable ISP. The price of the unit was par with just buying the equipment from the (third party) ISP in my case though the price of these fluctuates on amazon so YMMV. The Arris/Motorola SB6141 are identical products despite the name difference. Despite redundancy I’ll mention that this is just a MoDem; most end-use cases will require that this be plugged into a router or a wireless router or (edit) directly into your PC's Ethernet port if you have no other network infrastructure. Installation is trivial. It comes with an Ethernet cable to plug into the WAN port of your router typically, but what it does not come with is a Coaxial cable to connect it to the cable outlet so that will have to be ordered separately or purchased elsewhere. For self-installation the ISP will want to know the MAC address of the unit and possibly some other information which is found on the sticker on the retail box and also on a sticker on the bottom of the unit itself. In my case they requested I simply take a picture of the sticker and email it to them. A technician from the Cable Company may also have to visit your building or apartment as well to complete activation – though mine was activated remotely as the building or unit had cable internet service previously and the technician just had to check signal strength and nothing more. The unit runs a bit warm (nothing concerning) and has perforations in the housing for passive cooling. I’d put it somewhere open, not sandwiched between other objects with adequate airflow away from direct sunlight. IT is about 5-1/4” high, 5-1/4” deep (not including stick out from rear connectors and cables) and 1-3/4” wide. In closing, the equipment cost in my case will be recovered in a few months given my new billing rate vs old rate (then my rate will just be cheaper), so I’m quite happy with this purchase.

Functions as it needs to, no problems. Didn't do a speed test yet but it works for HD streaming and online gaming. Takes a little while to cycle through the upload/download links when first powered on but it gets there. Had to reset once, simple unplug and plug back in along with a router power cycle.
