Our outdoor Christmas decorations this year are giving the Blackpool illuminations a run for their money! And with many lights come many cables, too many of which were serious trip hazards for anyone walking down the drive to our front door. So I wanted a cable mat that would tidy the mass of wires and keep them hugging the bricks of the driveway. I needed a total of about 8m of mat, and given it would be used for about a month, I didn’t want to spend a fortune. The way my cables run means we don’t drive over them, so I was happy to get a light duty product. The cover works perfectly for me. Heavy enough to lay flat to the drive, easy to cut to size (with a very sharp knife), and easy to load with the cable (although I’d recommend doing this as a two-person job for any run over a couple of meters to prevent the frustration of getting to the far end of the cover only to discover the cable has popped out at the beginning). Before you buy, bear in mind that this is a 6cm wide, black rubber mat that rises more than 1cm off the ground in the middle. If you run it across the middle of your white-carpeted lounge, it is going to be far from discreet. And if you run it in front of a door that hugs the floor, it’s going to get snagged. But for the right job this is a well-made product at a good price, and I’m really pleased with my purchase.

For short term use, has no way of staying down flat on the floor. Also, have to pay for return, so buy with caution!!

Big, heavy, soft and floppy (imagine you're a cable and you're being sat upon by a giant rabbit...). Wider than I expected! It's two and a half inches wide. I wanted to cut mine to door-width, and altered my mind a couple of times as to where that would be, and then I found I couldn't get the ballpen marks off (even though I tried rubbing with alcohol). It cut very nicely with the kitchen scissors though. One thing I do note: it doesn't protect the cable from pressure very much. It's soft and just covers the cable. Protects from abrasion. I think it works best with two cables (I have two 7mm diameter cables in mine, they just fit, and it sits well - I don't have to tape it closed at the back). If you have soft cable and plan to step on it a lot then I think a hard rubber cable protector would be better. I'm sorry they don't do white - I'd have chosen that, even though it would get dirty (white cables, white paintwork, white UPVC door). I've only just fitted it, so time will tell.

Totally Perfect. Laid flat straight away. Easy to cut with kitchen scissors but stout enough to do the job. Reassuringly heavy.. I had one cable, about 4 mm. diameter that HAD to run under a doormat. Easy. Cable pushed into the protector from the underside. Job done in about two minutes.. No danger of damaged cable from passing footfall. Job done....

This item is a high quality item and very strong. It's my first time for me buying this brand and I think I will stick to it. I'm very happy with it. Very Good packing!
