Melissa Etheridge: Lucky Live [DVD]

Having been to two concerts,I was aware of Melissa Etheridge's vocal powere and the way she has of making every song feel like a wild part of one's own life. She explodes with passion and rage at times,as well as softness and tender feeling that I think anyone can relate to no matter what their social, gender, sexual, or spiritual background may be. An Etheridge show intoxicares the crowd for example, in the title song "Lucky" which quite fittingly mentions " I SAW YOU THROUGH MY WILD INTOXICATION" If memory serves. Melissa always stays on top of hsocially awareness game with songs like "Tuesday Morning" Which makes reference to the 9/11 tragedy. the dvd was surprisingly personal with footage of behind-the scenes goings on which includes Melissa and life partner Tammy shopping and an entire Day in the Life documentary and interview with Melissa herself. this should be part of any music fan's dvd/music collection of women rockers. Melissa is music's original angel!!

Awesome concert of Melissa's album Lucky...from the first track to the last she is in top form and man this woman puts on a good show, her voice is getting better and better...Fave performance is If You Want To, it's just great to see melissa rock out and the inclusion of the telephone is awesome, I wasn't expecting that. The moving and thoughtful performance of Tuesday Morning is special this time round because it's in New York, and his partner is in the crowd...just beautiful. The inclusion of the documentry gives a bit of an over view on the lead up to the show...Tammy is hilarious... I am a massive melissa fan and her show I just seen in Vegas for the Fearless Love tour is the BEST concert I have ever been too and I have seen a fair few shows...

I love hearing where the songs and some of the lyrics come from and I love getting to know the artists behind the concert. In the special feature where Melissa and her band are commenting on the concert, I got more of where the songs/lyrics come from as well as some great insight into who each person is and how they work together so well. I actually watched the special feature FIRST before watching the actual concert. I gotta say, I don't know which I like better!!!

This is one great live performance. I'm a huge fan of Melissa Etheridge And every time I watch this video I know why. Her band behind her is one awesome group, especially Philip, the lead guitar player. He has some great chops and produces some of the great new sounds with his axe.

If you like Melissa Etheridge even a little bit...this DVD you GOTTA HAVE! The concert it's self is fantastic, but the extras are what makes this a MUST HAVE for any Melissa fan. The band members and Melissa talk about the concert as they watch the DVD concert. "A day in the Life", the camera follows Melissa and Tammy around NY the day of the concert, and, there is a really good interview with Melissa. I love this DVD, great quality, great performance, awesome...get it.!!!!!!!!!!

Watching this video brings back good feelings from the concert. It is almost like being there, again. Anyone who wants an experience as close as being there, this a good bet.

I LIKED THE CONCERT BUT IT JUST SEEMED A LITTLE PLAIN. I WISH THAT SHE WOULD HAVE ADDED MORE OF HERSELF HAS IN HOW SHE MADE THIS CONCERT.

This DVD is the Melissa Etheridge's live performance of the "Lucky" album songs in New York City (April, 2004) during her promoting the promoting tour. The concert is an amazing experience. One song comes after other one with no pause, only some explanations or jokes before each one of the songs. The concert is perfect. It can also be watched with Melissa's and the other musicians' (Philip, Mark and Kenny) commentaries. The DVD includes an exclusive Melissa's interview and the documentary "A Day in the Life" describing the hours before the NYC concert that day. I recommend this CD/DVD set for every Melissa Etheridge's fans.

Habe heute Post bekommen freudig erwartet und dann das.Esist keine dvd+cd version ! es kommt nur die dvd !! Artikelbeschreibung dvd/cd !!!

Die DVD ist absolut spitze! Die Bilder und der Sound kommen gut rüber! Aber wie auch bei vorherigen Rezensionen ist hier zu kritisieren, dass fast nur Stücke von dem Album "Lucky" präsentiert werden!
