USB SD Card Reader, atolla USB Hub with SD/Micro SD Card Reader
Works great. I leave plugged in the back of my computer.

Awesome little hub
I bought this specifically for the SD card reader since it costs only a little more than a USB3 card reader does. I am very happy with the performance of this hub. The USB3 speeds are great. So are the SD card speeds. The option to supplement the hub with external power via micro-USB is a very important feature if you want to use this hub for external power-hungry devices that could strain the USB3 power from the computer. The ability to use a switch to individually turn on/off each of the ports is a nice feature too. About the only complaint I have is that the cord is too short. It would be nice if it came with a detachable short cord so you could substitute it with a longer one if you want, like me, where my only USB3 ports are on the back of my computer (makes it hard to get at the SD slots on the hub).

Hangs up with my 2.0 USB ports, transfer the image but keeps sending me busy dots.????
Hi all, thanks to the Atolla for sending me another unit. But I am afraid it does the same thing as the first unit did. So its got to be the software in the unit itself. It does transfer the image to my camera disc correctly, but does keeping spinning after it has transferred it,, I really don't have a life time to wait for the transfer to be done. My camera disc are current and fast,, What I am thinking about this item is some what compatible with a USB 2.0 in that it transfers the image from Windows 10 photos editor thru the USB 2.0 on my computer to your device fast, but it still gets hung up on my screen,, as its still waiting,, I let it go pass a minute its was still busy..than I X out of that screen and it showed the image already sent to my disc edited... so I don't understand it at all. The new edited photo is on my camera disc,, but why is it still sending out dots like its still busy, am I getting all the edited image correctly to my card. New box showed signs of being opened already as well.

Nice Little Gizmo and Great Technical Support
Really like the ability to actually switch on/off USB and SD card connections, but I was having a problem with the SD card reader. Every time I either inserted or turned on the SD card I would get a message that the card wasn't put away properly before disconnecting. The card's icon would appear briefly, then disappear, then the error message, and on and on. I contacted Atolla technical support and after some troubleshooting they said it was most likely a hardware error and would send out a replacement free of charge. Two days later it arrived and the SD card reader worked flawlessly. Kudos to Atolla tech support!

Works great with power over usb on it's own if you're worried about that.
Been using this thing for years. I have had zero issues. The switches are great! It's nice to be able to turn off the ports. You don't have to physically eject anything from the usb port. The Card reader works great for both sd cards and micro sd. It connects easily with windows or mac.

Good usb 3 hub with card readers
Have used this for a few days, now. I didn’t see, prior to ordering, that it has power switches for each port. That’s a nice bonus. Otherwise, the hub supports USB3.0 and seems well-built. It is bus-powered, with no way to make it a wall-powered hub, but it would be good for traveling and meets my needs well. I like that it has card readers so I don’t have to find my external SD card reader when I want to look at pictures from my camera

Buy this such a great little piece!
Awesome! Had for a while now and it works great. I used it at a desk so I don’t Ming the cord good much. The cord is fairly short though so it’s honestly not too bad to travel with either. Love that you can turn off the ports you’re not using with it. One of my usb porta went on my Mac after spilling water all over it and this completely solved my issue of not having enough ports!

Cord issues
After problem solving and trouble shooting on multiple computers - there was a very significant connectivity issue - the cord is not able to bend in any direction than the way it came out of the box or it WILL disconnect over and over. As annoying as this is, once connected it will not stay connected long enough to allow me to transfer files to another device or enough time to delete files from SD cards, so I changed my rating to 3 stars instead of 1.
