KYOOOOT!!!!!
I bought this game for my daughter, but now.....I want to buy one for myself. lol. IT'S SOOO CUTE and adorable! The graphics are vivid and the game is calming. All the confectionaries and sweets and colors...and....YAAAAAAY! What I do like about this game is that after playing a bit, it advises the player to take a break and come back in a few minutes. I think that is really refreshing to see in a video game...especially for children. I also like that there is reading involved as well. So it's fun while keeping her reading skills up and some wellness thrown in there. I like that you can go shopping, visit the salon, local areas in town and meet other ppl who can try your desserts of the day. I prefer this game to "Cooking Mama" which is not a bad game, but you're only in the kitchen and cooking mama is always yelling about the slightest mistakes....lol. You won't regret it... I cannot wait to see what else my little one will make today. :)

Cute cooking sim
This game follows Lime, a novice pastry chef who just moved to a new city to begin work at Fil Rouge, a local bakery. Lime is assisted by Puffee, a "sweets fairy", whom she meets in the park. Puffee informs her that he was sent to help grant her strong wish of becoming a great pastry chef, which she can do by cooking sweets, distributing them to the townsfolk, and collecting their happy feelings. First off, this game is adorable. It is everything you would expect from a sugary, shoujo-style game: giant eyes, adorable hair/outfit options, delicious sweets with cutesy decorations, androgynous coworkers, etc. Everything is colorful, frilly, happy, kawaii. I purchased this game for my anime-obsessed 8-year-old daughter, and she couldn't be happier with the aesthetics. The game mechanics are fairly simple and straightforward. You can select various things to do each day, such as work at the bakery (i.e. cook); visit the various shops to purchase recipes, decorations for your place, or outfits; visit the beauty parlor to change your hair; practice cooking at home; visit townspeople, give them their desired treat, and collect their happy feelings. Later on in the game, you unlock various cooking challenge minigames. In terms of controls, if you have an original Switch, most controls are done with motion sensing from the Joycons (e.g. tip your Joycon to pour). Although it is unclear form the game trailer, note that this game WILL also work on the Switch Lite! Instead of motion sensing, the instructions will prompt you to hold down the L1 or R1 buttons and use your analog stick. I tested this independently on my own Switch Lite, as well as on my daughter's regular Switch. My only two complaints are the ease of the game and the fact that there is no multiplayer option. The difficulty level is perfect for my 8-year-old, but for me, I found it to be kind of boring after a while. This is not like Cooking Mama where some recipes are very challenging; this game gives you very similar motions in all recipes, and usually plenty of time to complete a step. Having a multiplayer would have been very nice to compete against friends or family. Overall it is a cute and fun game.

It's Sailor Moon mixed with Cooking Mama!
I love the art style, the different characters and their personalities. The banter between the little animal friend and the main character is reminiscent of Sailor Moon. The cooking aspect feels like Cooking Mama but with an upgrade, and the 2D style of it is utterly fascinating to me. I get a nostalgic feeling when playing this game because It kind of has that old "GirlsGoGames" aesthetic that games used to have with the environment. It also has features like a password and a timer as well if you're trying to limit your gaming to a schedule of some kind.

I’m not a fan of the fact that you have to hold the left button for the motion controls to work but you may be able to turn it off in settings, I haven’t checked. The motion controls aren’t that great, you have to be kind of aggressive with them in order for it to register which sometimes results in you having to do the same move a couple times. The motion control issues kind of prevent you from getting properly immersed in the game. Because of this I think it is a little expensive for what it is, but I have the game now and will enjoy it. I haven’t got the handheld mode to work A good alternative is cooking mama cook star although it is no longer made and may be hard to find.

Very cute but a bit awkward for switch lite only, maybe it’s more fun with the motion controls with the T.v
