My youngest child is almost 18 months old and has yet to develop the ability nor desire to sit still and listen as I read books to her. With this book however, the included activity of placing the baby throughout the book corresponding to the story keeps her involved. She is not expected to sit still and only listen, but actually participates and that makes all the difference. As another customer posted in the comment section, this is not a toy, but an activity to do together. You will not be able to give this book to a tyke and expect them to play with it, it takes parental participation. That said, after having read this book together several times with my daughter, I have been very surprised to see how many times she has picked this book up while playing and flipped through and stared at the pages intently, before putting it down and proceeding to play with other toys. Very young children have recognition skills much more developed then most parents realize, your little does recognize the activities in the book as being the same or similar to the things they do on a daily basis. I highly recommend this book, as well as "Good Night Teddy", another book very similar in which you go through the process of putting a Teddy bear through nightly rituals leading up to bed, for babies and toddlers of all ages. Review: So cute - Our 15-month old really enjoys Karen Katz's lift-the flap books, so I thought I would try Baby's Day. Our baby enjoys playing with the little baby and putting her into the little scenes throughout the book. She hugs and kisses the little stuffed baby. It's adorable. It's a sweet little book, and a nice interactive reading experience for baby.

Quality Book
This is a wonderfully crafted, cloth book with baby tethered to ribbon who moves among the pages. Based a small shower upon this book. Each family member chose one time of day from the book: playtime, bedtime, dinner... to buy gifts for. Dad-to-be read a page, moved baby, then expectant Mom opened the associated gift. No duplicate gifts and a gorgeous, colorful book to have as a souvenir. Babies will love having this book read to them, and can later browse the colorful pictures on their own. I would highly recommend.

Where are its clothes
I thought this was really cute, but It looks like it only has underwear on and I didn't realize it. It will surely be loved anyways. It will be a great gift this ChristMAS. Great quaility and it has one page on there that the fabric has a crinkle paper sound to it that my baby will love!

Great Play Book!
"Baby's Day Out" is a soft cloth book, where the baby is put in and out of everyday activities. My granddaughter is 2 and loves this book. What is baby doing now, we ask, she will immediately tell us and put baby in that picture. Bath, eating, sleeping, she loves this book. She likes to take care of baby "all day". The book itself is very well made and will last through the spills and tramples of being loved.

I love this book
I love this book! My 4 month old, who absolutely hates tummy time, will lift her head up while on her stomach to glance at this book. She will roll over from her back to her side to grab at it. She loves the bright colours of this book and the crinkly page keeps her attention.. I did try reading it to her once, but there's not much of a story and doesn't have the coordination to put the doll in the pockets. I hope that it holds up until she can interact with the book, but for now, I'm just happy watching her swing it around and chew on it. :D

Fun, adorable book
What a gem of a book! The little baby has a "sleeping" and an "awake" side. The pages start with baby waking up in the morning, then having breakfast, playing hide-and-seek, swinging, having a bath, getting dried off on a towel, reading a book, and then going night-night. My 1-year old daughter loves her "baby" book! She's not quite dexterous enough to put the baby in and out of all the pages by herself, but she loves to try, and is totally captivated by all the bright pages, and all the adorable, everyday activities pictured in the book. She especially likes the "peek-a-boo" page, where we hide the baby under the laundry pile. This is such a creative, adorable book for little ones!

Cute cloth book--just a little age inappropriate
This book is as adorable as Karen Katz's other books and a very neat concept, but not something a baby or young toddler can really enjoy on their own. The baby pictured on the front, in the wagon, is attached to a ribbon and you remove her from the wagon to read the book. You place her in the highchair, towel for bath, under blankie for bed, etc. An adorable idea, but neither my 2 1/2 year old nor my 9 month old think it's much fun. They certainly cannot manipulate it on their own, so then there are virtually empty pages to look at. Sort of a disappointment. Perhaps good for a first child or for a baby with a preschool or school-aged sibling to help "read" it.
