Up the Creek! (Milligan Creek)

I purchased this for my grandson. I turned out to be really nice adventure story for kids. The story has some really nice twists and turns. The characters were fun and the story kept his interest. I glad I purchased this for him.

Well-written adventure of four boys growing into young men who display courage and mutual support for each other while also ribbing each other as healthy boys do. In addition, the parent-son relationships are supportive of the boys experiencing adventure while also experiencing the outcomes of their decisions. An excellent book for my grandsons and other boys in this age range. Thanks for writing an interesting story that will encourage our young boys to read.

I understand this is fiction but this story is not at all realistic. What parents let their 10-12 year olds go canoeing on a flooded creek by themselves?

Ten year old grandson loved it!! That’s about the best review I could ask for!! He loves to read and carries a book with him, constantly! I’m so thankful that there are still good books for our children and grands to read, which gives them a break from the all the electronics! Practice those reading skills!😉

This was a great book of up the crreek. . It was an exciting adventure story . I was glad the boys got home safely.

I read this with my ten year old before bedtime. It was a fun read for both of us. At the end of the story he said he wants to get a canoe and go up the creek by our house!

I purchased this book for my 3rd grade son to read independently. However this book is very wordy and is an awkward read in some places. So I shifted from an independent read to a bedtime read where I am reading aloud. At times, I found my self skipping over parts just to get to the point of the text.

My 10 yo son, read this book and got hooked. Finished it in one night. Too bad the books are not longer...but,I have bought the rest of the series and he is happy. I recommend this book for kids.
