I purchased an Acer Chromebook a few months ago. Since the laptop only came with 32GB, I wanted extra local storage space, so I purchased a microSD card which came with a standard SD card adapter. Once I got the laptop set up and inserted the regular SD adapter, I noticed it was about .5-.75 inches too long. It didn't really affect much, other than me needing to be careful when transporting my laptop. But, for aesthetic purposes, I decided to get a short adapter so that the card wouldn't stick out so far. This adapter that I purchased works almost perfectly. No issues with reading my SD card and the data transfers easily from the microSD card to the computer. There's still a bit of a lip sticking out, but it's much less noticeable. My only complaint is this adapter is only offered in white. I really wanted a gray adapter as it would match my laptop and not be so conspicuous. But, this adapter had the best rating and I decided to go with rating over color. Still a great purchase in my book!

Background: when I purchased my last MacBook Air I was in a financial straights and could not buy one that had the storage that I really needed. Now, starting back to school, I am realizing that I need a lot more room than my internal drive provided. I had considered using an external USB drive and carrying around a clunky box with me everywhere I went. Then I found this type of adapter that worked with the SD slot and allowed me to use any number of small microSD cards to expand my storage. I leave it plugged in with a 512 gig SD card in it and it seamlessly mounts between my Mac OSx and windows bootcamp partitions when I boot. It has allowed me to really feel comfortable and not worried about “how much stuff do I collect?“ And “how many notes should I take today?“

I got my old MacBook Air 13"(mid 2011) with a 256Gb internal SSD. Although I am using "cloud storage" decided to add some extra "internal storage" for files that might need to be reviewed while not online. Got the 5-unit bag, but I am using one of them with a 128Gb Samsung MicroSd. Fits and works nicely!

This handy little item made it easy to use an SD card as an extra drive on my MacBook Pro and to transfer files from other devices that used an SD Card to my Macbook Pro. The item did what it said it would do and I still use this item to this day. Very good item.

It works, and just enough of a aesthetic, curved protrusion to be easily removable. I've docked it one star because the paint is poorly applied. ********EDITED******** After using for only four months, leaving it in my 13" MacBook and never taking it out, it stopped working. An error message would show saying that the card was unreadable, and it gave me the options to Initialize the card, Ignore the warning, or Eject it. Thankfully the data on the card itself was not damaged, and I'm able to use a regular card reader. Waste of my money and now it's outside the return window.

Fits recessed in dell precision 5570 after modification Dislikes: 1: Had to modify to fully insert into the dell but they are designed for macbook and the listing even advises they don't fit some of those products so this was expected. 2: Stuck in my laptop. Glad I bout the 5 pack so I had another to look at. Had to slide a thin plastic (cut from water bottle type material) in underneath it to allow removal. Had to shave the lips marked in black down to the height of the metal contacts. 3: I measured before buying and the listing dimensions meant that the adaptor would stick out of my laptop so don't trust those. It is 11mm (7/16") shorter than an SD or full sized adaptor. Functional now.

I own an early 2015 13" Macbook Air and with only a measly 128GB SSD i have quickly run out of space. This is a great way to expand a very small solid state. It is sleek, minimal, and looks very clean and almost like a part of my macbook. At this price it is extraordinarily reasonable. And much cheaper than most other adapters out on the market! Will NOT fit properly in Microsoft Surface machines, it sticks out.

La uso para hacer copias de seguridad de los archivos que me interesa conservar. Usando un programa como Sync Folders o similares se le puede sacar mucho uso

Brilliant low profile SD card adapter Using this on a home made Bluetooth speaker system makes it much less likely to be damaged as it doesn't stick out nearly so much

Nice unit, But for the macbook pro, it does stick out about 1cm. As I have a case and the way I travel, as long as it is pointing up in my bag, I havn't had any reason to look at getting something smaller.
