Great Improvement over previous faucet
In 2006 we installed a different company's faucet, which worked well until its rotational axis froze up. As a result, when you tried to turn it, instead of pivoting on an axle, the entire appliance simply loosened, requiring a clumsy trip under the sink and past the disposal to tighten two almost unreachable screws. After the first freeze, I complained to the manufacturer, who impressively sent us a new faucet, for which I am grateful. But after just a few years, that one froze up too. Thus the purchase of the Moen. It was a dream to install, it works very nicely, looks great, and clearly does not feature the same faults. It even matches our insta-hot 190 degree faucet in appearance. Who could ask for more?

Great faucet so far!
UPDATE 13 months after initial review: I just had to change the batteries for the first time since installation so I wanted to update you all to let you know to plan on replacing the AA batteries after a year or so. I was surprised that the manual operation of the on/off faucet handle also stopped working when the batteries died. I thought that would work whether the batteries died or not. Once I replaced the batteries, both the manual operation handle and the sensor both worked again. I am still very pleased with this faucet and highly recommend. Original review: I had this new faucet installed by a handyman a couple of days ago and so far I love it! I am somewhat handy but honestly, when I opened the box and saw all the parts, I immediately said NOPE and called the handyman. It wasn't worth it to me to risk getting in over my head and turning this job into a potential Lucy gets herself into a pickle again episode. I have never had a faucet with an on/off sensor before and I must say I'm really enjoying it. When I bought this I figured if it turned out that the sensor was finicky and frustrating I would just use the handle and ignore the sensor but thus far I am very much into the sensor and hardly ever opting for the handle (except out of habit). The sensor is extremely sensitive so you don't have to worry about having to wave your hands around like a crazy person trying to make it turn on or off. Just put your hand in front of it on the left side and water is immediately on or off. There's no waving or hunting for the right spot at all. I can see the plastic box mounted on the wall under the sink that contains the AA batteries (I can't recall how many) so it won't be difficult to change them when the time comes. It'll be interesting to see how long they last. Hopefully it won't be too frequent. Aesthetically, I think it looks great. It has a clean, simple, transitional design, not overtly modern or overtly country farm house but it really could work in either. I appreciate the higher placement of the handle, not so low like my older one that got very close to the counter and was hard to wipe clean and dry underneath. I also like the long hose of the pull down sprayer. It is longer than my old faucet which allows me to more easily cover the whole sink. Overall I am very pleased with my new faucet and I like that Moen provides a lifetime warranty, just in case.

A touchless kitchen faucet with pull-down hose and easy installation
The Moen 7402EW Riley Single Handle High Arc Pull Down Kitchen Faucet with the touchless option, was purchased as an open box item. It was not previously installed, but the deck plate and gasket were missing (Moen quickly supplied the missing items). Since this was a touchless version of the faucet, the water mixer was a separate under-sink battery powered unit linked to the manual temperature/flow controls via a thin electrical cable. The separate mixer resulted in the faucet stem having only the thin electrical cable and the draw-down water hose. This together with a simple plastic tool supplied to tighten the faucet to the sink, made installation easy. No need for a basin wrench and working upside down under the sink was not too awful. The touchless sensor turned the water flow on or off at maximum flow at the current temperature setting. Manual flow/temperature operation was normal, but it still used the electric water mixer. It was possible to disable the sensor if desired. If flow was turned on via the sensor, flow may also be turned off manually. If turned on manually, flow must then be turned off manually. The most concerning characteristic of the touchless system, was that it was difficult to get an intermediate temperature. The temperature setting gives mostly max hot or max cold with just a small range for intermediate temperatures. Moen gives an estimated battery life of one year for the six AA batteries. I will keep some spare batteries handy. My measured flow rate was 42 sec/gal. The spray head worked fine with the two spray settings and enough spray pressure without excessive splashing and has a nice universal joint, but felt too light weight. The draw-down water hose was pulled back home with a clamp-on hose weight, not a spring. After a couple weeks of use, the faucet remains a good choice.

Decent faucet - easy install - good quality - no major complaints
Good build quality - super easy install - it genuinely resists spotting - and the sprayer head pivots far easier than our old faucet. My only real complaints w/ this unit are: * The 2-minute shutoff timer (which cannot be disabled). * The need to constantly reset the sensor. We had our old touchless faucet for about four years - and we didn't even know it had a five minute shutoff timer for the first few years we owned it. And we never, ever had to reset the sensor - the new unit needs the sensor reset every few days for some reason?

Looks good. Simple to install.
I just bought my first house and I wanted to upgrade my ugly faucet. This one is a nice more affordable option. It was really simple to install for someone who’s never done it before. The water pressure is really strong so I do have to keep it pretty low to it doesn’t splash everywhere. I only wish that the switch to change the stream would stay on and I didn’t have to hold it down but that’s my only minor complaint. So far no issues with leaking.

Wow great faucet, great price
Wow, bought to replace a $400 Kohler faucet that lasted less than 4 years. The spray is so powerful it blasts the dirt off dishes without using a sponge. Best part it fills my coffee put in seconds. Great quality and really nice design

the head of this faucet is wrapped in stainless steel like plastic wrap, which easily gets damaged/chipped. disappointing product for such expensive price.

Much more convenient than the 28 year old Moen tap and barely functional separate sprayer that it replaced.
