Wool 504 - Moonstruck/XL

A gift for my hub in the Moonstruck color. He likes to wear it with his gray striped sportscoat and with jeans. Well-made hat with the cool factor that actually keeps his head warm.

I read many of the reviews before ordering the cap. As most of the reviewers stated, it is a great cap! A couple reviewers said the sizes weren't consistent. I was concerned when reading that, but decided to do what one reviewer recommended--go to Kangol's web site and use their table of sizes to determine the size to order. I used their chart and measurements to determine that I needed an XL size. It was right on the money--size is perfect. So go to their site to find out what size to order. I am from Michigan where the weather gets cold--this cap is warm, comfortable and looks great. As a first time owner of a Kangol cap I am extremely happy with it and would purchase another in the future. In fact I would go so far to say that I love the cap and would recommend it to anyone considering it.

This hat is seamless and sticks out on the sides of your head a bit more than typical multi-panel newsboy hats. The wool is good quality and thick. There is not an extra layer of insulation added, but it is pretty warm due to the wool thickness. It breathes a little and is quite comfortable. I'd say this is best worn on cool summer days to average winter days. In the cold of winter, you will want to cover your ears, which this does not. In the heat of summer, this will make you sweat. This is a simple flat cap and is exactly what I have been looking for. It's high quality and a classic look.

I have a few of these "drivers" caps in other brands and this one is as nice or nicer than any of them. It's very well made, keeps its shape and I think it looks great. I usually wear them while playing golf or other outdoor activities. This one is perfect for the cold weather here in Utah. My skin has reacted to some wool garments before. That is not the case with the Kangol. I'd definitely recommend this to others. Make sure you search the web for a Kangol size fitting chart. I normally wear a large in this type of hat, but the chart recommended medium - and it fits perfectly. I got the tip to buy the cap from a guy who was wearing one in a local store. I asked him where he got it and he said "Well, it IS a Kangol and I got it...." It reminded me of the old Grey Poupon commercial. He was so proud of it! 5/12/17 update: I have a few Kangol 504's now and have been pleased by each one.
