Need an LED light that works over a wide V range? - This is it!
Worked great for a 9th grade demonstration. Use a hand powered DC generator.

fails after about 1000 hours
The solder at the base does not handle the heat of the bulb. The bulbs fail after around 1000 hours. The solder softens and then releases one of the conductors to the LED array, and the array no longer lights. But, if you take the bulb apart, and use it on a test bed, the LED lights up.

Bright Enough
Bright enough, but not too bright to leave on all night.
