Great project for my 7 year old grandson. Loved!

Broke immediately.
Screws require an adult strength. String immediately slips off the wheels and the only way to recenter is to undo 4 screws. Hard pass on this.

Doesn't work. Drive wheel needs axle, not screw
Anyone who has ever, and I mean ever designed a gear that has to apply force knows you put it on an axle, not a screw, or at least support both ends. So one of the rubber wheels that is intended to grip the rope has no such support and just tilts out, letting the string fall out, making the set basically worthless. I also ran into the broken wire issue others did and had to solder. It was valuable to troubleshoot with my kid, but it was uber disappointing that it didn't work at all even after putting in extra repair effort.

My mistake.
I just left a bad review for this product. But after seeing that most bad reviews were about the same thing, the string slipping off the pulley right away, I took it apart again and looked closer because I had a screw left over. Sure enough the left over screw went in one of the pulley wheels. After I inserted that screw and put it all back together it works great. I apologize. The instructions are the problem. I also found three videos online for assembling this toy and they were all three 30-40 seconds long with key steps edited out. You you are reading this and you are from this company you would have much better reviews and happy customers if you would slow down and show every little step for proper assembly. You would no doubt sell many more of them as the price is incredibly low and assembly is really quite simple once the instructions are clear.

What a horrible kit!
Do NOT buy!!! Purchased from the Denver Museum of Nature and Science - you’d think their purchaser would review the products they are selling to spark and encourage a love of science in children. This kit has at least a couple of design flaws - the wires are cheap and may need to be soldered, and the wheel mechanism is poorly designed - it needs an axel. The batteries also drain after a couple of climbs, so there are electrical design issues as well. My grandson learned the importance of troubleshooting and “try try again,” but this kit is not worth the cost of the packaging.

Terrible battery life
The building aspect was fun for my son but after one time up and down the batteries went dead. Now I have a balling child and have burned through 6 batteries.

Battery drain issue
I bought this product through Walmart. For the original price and discounted price this product is not worth it and was not engineered properly. I could provide a 3 minute video of changing the batteries to fresh batteries and turning it on until it drains 2.5 minutes later. The cost of batteries alone is not worth looking at this do nothing. I could have made something similar that doesn’t move with cardboard, pipe cleaners, string, paint, and Elmers glue. Maybe it is the high efficient batteries but I doubt it. The assembly is easy and the instructions are understandable but the end result is disappointing.

Terrible design
Don’t buy this whatever you do!! Like a lot of the reviewers the stupid string falls out every time and you need to disassemble the entire thing to get it back
