GREAT Derailleur at an awesome price
Using it 4 years now. I used it as part of a project to turn a single speed bike to a 7 speed. I cant tell you how happy I am with this Derailleur. It shifts so clean and smooth and worked out perfectly for a bike frame that didnt have a built in mounting point for a Derailleur. HIGHLY recommend

Good swap for a big box bike
We got a second-hand big box bike, and it’s been a steady stream of repairs ever since—brakes, seat, tires, shifter, chain, and finally the derailleur. Limited by the need for a hook mount and a B-screw adjuster to fix clearance issues caused by the new Shimano shifter, I landed on this derailleur. Fortunately, it installed easily, feels solid, and shifts cleanly. For the price, it’s a worthwhile upgrade—even if I wish I’d never taken the bike in the first place.

It does what it's supposed to.
The install was easy enough. Getting the derailleur dialed in was less so. It's a 6/7 speed derailleur and it took me far too long to realize it came set up for a 6 speed crankset. No matter what I did I couldn't get it to shift to that 7th gear until I adjusted the limit screws. After about ~20 minutes of fine adjustment I finally got it to shift properly into all gears with no more issue.

Better than most people think if they're installed correctly
Tourney derailleurs are fine for starting out. I'd go with Shimano Altus to be completely honest because they're a bit more rugged but if you're careful and maintain them and your drive train these are a good choice. I find these get bad reviews because they're usually put on bikes that aren't maintained and they're installed by people who don't know what they're doing. If they're installed correctly and maintained correctly they'll last a year or more.

Great price
This worked great. I was concerned with the quality since the price was so good. Don't worry about that, it will last longer that the rest of the bike. Instructions were great for how to adjust the gear changes, I've never done it before. Very happy with my purchase.

Much better than the stock.
The Shimano derailor that come with cheaper mountain bikes I'm sure work OK for some, but the last two bike I purchased were garbage. They came bent very loose and hard to dial in. This one I purchased for my Kent has bigger idler gears and was very easy to dial in. Shifting is much more crisp and consistent, I totally recommend this as an upgrade. You may need to either add a link or a new longer chain for the larger idler gears.

Excellent OEM replacement rear derailleur
This Shimano Tourney rear derailleur is a great upgrade or replacement parts for any 7-speed bike without a derailleur hanger.
