If you value your valuable rifles, get this case.
This case provides second-to-none protection for my 1873 Winchester .44-40 with 24" barrel. Very sturdy and well-built. The latches are well designed and user-friendly. Worth every penny. What else can I say? It's a GREAT rifle case.

Great case
I bought this case to hold my hunting rifle for storage at home and on the go. The case if relatively light for the amount of protection you get and with the size of it. The four clasps to open and close the case work great with no issues. I didn't purchase any locks for it yet but I will eventually. There is more than enough room for me to be able to keep my scope mounted on the rifle and the sling on it while stored. The length of the case isn't an issue for me due to my rifle stock being shortened. Make sure you measure whatever firearm you are going to put in the case so that you know it fits before you purchase. The foam doesn't come out of the case which is great so you don't need to worry about it getting in the way. I'm looking forward to using this case for many years of hunting and traveling so that my rifle doesn't get bumped around in the car. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a great case that is sturdy, dependable, and durable. It has holes for locks so that you can safely store your firearms.

Best value for the money
I already had a SKB case. I am very happy with the durability and safe securing of my weapon. I have never had any accuracy problems from being bumped around during transport. I have a Pelican Storm case, and though it is a great case, it has a great weight that goes with it (Thankfully it is a wheeled case). The SKB is about 6 lbs. lighter and just as durable/protective as the Pelican at about $100 cheaper. (I do have Pelican cases for other applications that I wouldn't use any other case for, just to be clear about the seeming degrade of Pelican cases they are very much worth the price for those applications)

Five Stars
Quality is excellent to say the least and made in the USA. Worth the money to protect your investment. Additionally, when you open the case, you notice that the latches are heavy duty. There is a "tab" located under the latch which when you pull that in releases the latch itself. It seems so much better than the latches that Plano or Flambeau have on them. Also, I noticed that one end of egg crate type foam is more elevated than the other end. After laying my Savage model 11 trophy hunter with a Nikon 3-9-40 scope the barrel was at the end where the foam is elevated or higher which makes perfect sense. In effect if I have it right, that would pinch the barrel in the foam. At about the 1/2 point the foam isn't as high up which again makes sense as the stock, scope, and forearm would need more space. Very nice in my opinion. The only potential downside I can see is that there isn't much room for example at the top and bottom of the recoil pad. My set up fits but there isn't a lot of up and down or width. I would go on the SKB website if needed and check the internal dimensions to make sure your rifle, shotgun or whatever will fit.

Good universal gun case
This case will hold my 37 1/2 inch long replica 1885 Winchester high wall rifle. It will also hold any one of several other rifles I have. It appears to be well designed and durable. It fits my needs for a multi-use gun case quite well.

This is definitely one of the better rifle cases
This is definitely one of the better rifle cases, especially if you don't intend to customize the foam. I like the built-in dip on one side to account for your rifle buttstock being thicker than the barrel. This case is less bulky than the Plano, so that is a big plus, but it is nowhere near as rugged as the big Plano's. It's a little bit of a tradeoff, this is much better if you are limited on space, or just go to the range and back... But, if you go hunting, and have to take a plane, or travel a lot of really rough roads... eh.. I would go a little heavier duty... especially if it's a really nice gun, or your optics are valuable.

Best, non-aluminum case available - bar none...
Thick & strong outside plastic makes a very protective shell and the high quality foam inside holds the rifle very securely. The hinges are strong and the latches secure. It is a little pricey relative to some of the other lesser quality cases on the market, but the price is fair and well worth it given the quality of the SKB case. The bottom line is my equipment is worth the extra protection.

Great for Olympic recurve archery equipment, in addition to rifles.
I had to fly out for a multi-day business trip, then return the day before an archery tournament. How was I going to practice and maintain my fitness level? I made arrangements with a couple of indoor archery ranges at my destination, and bought this case. The biggest challenge with transporting archery equipment is not the riser (25 inches) nor the limbs (long, each about 26 1/2 inch arc length) nor the arrows (about 28 inches); it's the long stabilizer. My stabilizer is 36 inches long. This SKB case is much less expensive than dedicated recurve archery cases and it's a multi-purpose case for me. My precision air rifle and my smallbore rifle, et. al., can fit in it as well. It's long enough to contain and protect the stabilizer and all my equipment other than the quiver and the bow stand. I just had to remove the sight block and sight extension bar which is always good practice for transport. I had compared the width/thickness of my archery equipment with my rifles and they're similar. Because this case is designed to handle rifles without having to cut any foam, I did not have to cut any foam for my archery equipment, either. The foam is designed to provide proper compression to provide better protection and less shifting. Cutting foam would have eliminated the multi-purpose value of this case. The foam layers consist of more rigid foam outer layers and egg crate foam inner layers. The rigid foam layer is contoured such that one side of the case has more clearance (for rifle stock and bolt mechanism) and another side is tighter for the barrel. The wider pieces such as limbs and riser stayed at the more spacious side. As a precaution, I taped the more fragile parts attached to the riser such as the arrow rest and the plunger button in case the riser shifted. The total external dimensions are about 62 inches, compliant with many airlines' definitions of non-oversize baggage so I did not have to pay any oversize baggage charges. It's a well built case the provides a more-than-adequate level of protection. There are 4 metal-reinforced padlock holes and thick plastic reinforcements at various locations. The carry handle is hefty. SKB also provides a lifetime warranty for the case. ". . . if your case breaks, SKB will supply replacement parts, repair the case, or replace your case for as long as you own it."
