Good value - Securly hold 30 Round magazines
These pouches securely store magazines. The flap can be tucked in to make an open topped pouch for faster access. The magazines are still securely held in place even in this configuration. Some reviewers seem to think that 2 magazines should be put in each pouch. I believe that these pouches are intended for one magazine per pouch. They are "double" in the sense that there are 2 pouches, not in the sense that each pouch holds 2 magazines. Overall, these pouches work well, and are a good value.

Not CIF Gear
These aren't the ones CIF will take. So if you missing CIF gear, then find the ones with the correct nsn.

great pouch.
I got this mag pouch in the mail yesterday. The construction was solid, double stitching, thick fabric, etc, but the design was a bit off. The elastic band on one of the sides of the pouch was so tight i actually had to cut it off to even fit in a second mag. The mags were inserted upsidedown (like you should), and still it was impossible. I'm sure i could have sat there for 10 hours stretching the band, but i dont have that kind of patience. If you (for some reason) want to insert your magazines with the top facing up, you're out of luck with PMAGS unless you enlist the strength of mighty Atlas to hold the band open while you put them in. Other than that, great pouch.

I suggest looking up directions for cleaning the velcro so that it'll stick like it used to
These pouches have elastic which allows them to be used to hold a single magazine or a pair of magazines. Some people have complained they're too tight or won't fit 2 mags and that's rubbish. Here's the thing. They were made to be used for 20 years by half a dozen people whose only concern is that a big enough piece of the pouch is left to turn in to the consolidated issue facility when they're done with it. So of course it's going to be really tight at first if you want it to still hold a single magazine securely after 17 years of abuse. I'll break down Barney style how to insert 2 magazines into a new pouch. While wearing the magazine pouch, Insert the first mag brass to the grass (open end facing down), and push the top away from you to stretch out the elastic band. Place the second magazine behind the first (also brass to the grass) and cram it in there. If you get these used, I suggest looking up directions for cleaning the velcro so that it'll stick like it used to. Out of the package the velcro was pretty weak but cleaned up well and sticks good again.

Terrible quality and does not fit 4 mags
Bought this item and immediately returned it. Terrible quality and doesn't fit 4 30 round mags. Not even close. Velcro is weak and material was coming apart.

Turn to Emdom or Tactical Tailor Instead
I was not entirely satisfied with the fit or the color of this product. Eagle Industries is the primary provider of tactical gear for the US Marines. As such, you would expect the color to match the coyote brown color of their single mag pouches. Instead, these pouches are far too green and stand out quite easily next to issued ones. However, that can be ignored. The bigger issue is the fit. I would NOT recommend using these mag pouches for 4 standard issue 30-round magazines. The fit is simply too tight. If retention is their goal, they met it... at the expense of being able to easily retrieve the magazines. I've tried stretching them by leaving magazines in for an extended period of time, but it did little to alleviate the problem (even months later). The pouches have been relegated to a secondary setup and will stay there. If you are looking to replace standard issued pouches, go to another company.

I will give this a 4/5 because the pouches were still in good shape but the wrong colour
I ordered 3 of these which were supposed to be khaki as per the listing, however I recieved 3 coyote pouches. Eagle Indistries Khaki and Coyote are two completely different colours. Just as a heads up for any other buyers. I will give this a 4/5 because the pouches were still in good shape but the wrong colour, which is common with surplus Eagle Industries gear
