Blu-Ray DVD Drive KEM-450DAA, Complete Replacement for PS3 Slim CECH-25XX CECH-30XX Consoles 160GB 320GB

This was a replacement to put into my Sony PlayStation 3 slim as the Blu-ray player had gone a little wonky! Works better than it has in years! I had a friend put it in for me he did a very good job of installing it and enjoyed placing it in after he watched a YouTube video on the best way to put it in I suggest if he purchases that that’s what you do! The power cord is a bit tricky and it’s better if you watch somebody else do it first. Took a little longer than I thought to get it but it was as described and works perfectly, thanks!

I powered on my PS3 the other week after not having used it in a year, because I still have games to finish. To my dismay, the blu ray player no longer would read disks.. However, there is a happy ending! This replacement drive worked perfectly! I was able to find a video online and install it myself without any real trouble aside from the "security screws" on the PS3, which you can bypass with just a small flathead instead of buying the special screwdriver for it.

After installing this correctly it didn't work. After hours of analyzing the bd drive, opened it to see anything wrong and found something. I found the laser deck was missing two screws so it falls to the bottom and the laser, spin motor don't move. It makes a loud sound and that's about it. Can't recommend this unless you want to risk it since some have gotten lucky.

Yes the drive works. However, it was not new. It was used. I paid for a brand new one at 94.95. Not a used one which is priced at 64.87. There were scratches on the drive and something lose inside. Like I said...it works, but I wanted what I paid for.

Well I'm giving 4 star because the drive from top looks like it's new, all shiny and beautiful, but from the bottom side it's all scratched and the metalic part was rusted. But I tried it and it works fine!. I'm actually happy that my PS3 it's working normally since all that time. :) I think it was a refurbished part.

I love that my ps3 can play any ps1 and ps3 discs again. My old dvd drive malfunctioned. And doesn’t put any dvd/discs so this is great that I can play my games again.

Was surprised at how sturdy and solid this replacement is compared to the original. Install was easy and worked immediately. The 3 weeks for shipping was kind of a pain, but worth it in the end.
