Cosamo Medium Brown
Cosamo Medium Brown Hair Color is rich color. It seemed to dark for me and I don’t know if I maybe left it on too long before rinsing it out. I usually use the Medium Golden Brown color. , but have tried different times the Medium Brown. I like the Cosamo brand and if I take my time and don’t rush I can do my hair without getting globs on floor or my clothes! It has enough in bottle too because seems my hair gets enough of it on and am trying to use up all of it. Overall I think it is a good product and I like the fact it has no peroxide in it.

THE only Alternative for Clairol Loving Care...
This CoSaMo non- permanent hair color is the ONLY alternative to Clairol (shame on them for stopping making it!) Loving Care! I myself used Loving Care regularly for over 20 years. Since Loving Care was discontinued 2 years ago, I have run out of all my panic driven stash from Big Lots. So along with the thousands of other faithful LC users, we have to search the world to find something that is ammonia and peroxide free. Well, I have devoted months to my search and this is the best we can do. Cosamo is gentle, the color I used, Medium Brown is true to the picture on the box. My natural color was/is dark brown, about 2 shades darker, but is over 50% very light gray. The Cosamo color covered evenly and is easy to use as was Loving Care. I'd say the color lotion is only slightly thinner, so a tad more runny. The most noticeable difference to me is that it does not smell as nice as Loving Care. There is a slight chemical smell when first starting to apply. It tends to disapate somewhat while applying. The box includes instructions, a pair of gloves, a heat cap and the packet of 2 minute cream rinse lotion. I kept the color lotion on for 25 mins but I have over 50% color resistant gray (think brillo pad), so I'll leave it on for the full 45 mins I used to do with LC next time. It's only been 2 weeks since I applied it and I haven't noticed a lot of fading yet. LC usually went about 8-10 weeks for me, because I kept the solution on for the longer period. I had no allergic reaction to this Cosamo at all, I just noticed the stronger smell. I do recommend it as the best alternative out there now UNLESS Clairol decides to bring back our old "Standard" Loving Care again. Based on my experince with the Clairol Company of late, where literally thousands of faithful Loving Care users weren't important enough for them to maintain as a client base, I'm not holding my breath. The alternatives Clairol recommends are NOT the same as LC was at all! They all contain harsh chemicals, even Clairol "Beautiful" professional non-permanent Hair color lotion has been changed recently. The Clairol "Help-Line" is anything but... script readers mostly... Sorry to be negative, but I'm feeling the frustration all the faithful Loving Care users are facing. Hope this helps someone, So even though it's not exactly Loving Care it IS the best we can get at this time. Thank you.

I miss Clairol's products, but am using CoSaMo
For years I used Clairol's US Loving Care and then Clairol's UK Nice'n Easy. Now CoSaMo is the only non-permanent hair color I've found. I use it, but it doesn't last as long as Clairol's products did. The color looks good at first, but starts to change after three shampoos, so I color my hair more often now than I did with the Clairol products.

Natural Color and so Easy to Apply
This is the very BEST! It gives a good natural color, without the harsh treatment of regular color. It is so easy to apply. I don't have much hair, so I can use one bottle three times. I do get a good conditioner, because the conditioner that comes with CoSaMo only lasts for one treatment. Wish they would see the conditioner separately. It only lasts me about 3 weeks, but for me that is really great. The color that I got from the beauty shop lasted about the same. Of course the cost of coloring my hair now, thanks to CoSaMo, is so much less. I have been using this since September. Nothing has ever been better!!!

No PPDs or PTDs!!
Finally, a product that does not contain PPDs or PTDs. After years of torturing my hair and scalp with conventional ammonia, peroxide, PTD and PPD-laden chemical dyes, I found CoSaMo. I developed such severe allergies to both PPDs and PTDs that my ears would become highly inflamed and swollen, and the skin would break open and weep. My scalp developed scabs and lesions. My neck was always inflamed and had large red irritated bumps. Even so, I tended to stay away from rinses because they washed out so quickly and weren't all that effective at covering graying hair. My hair is probably 75% gray, but CoSaMo stays in until the next application.* By that time (3 weeks), the new pale roots are showing. * Here's a caveat: I add a small amount of Surya Henna to the Cosamo (go with the color you're using). Surya Henna brand does contain some PTD (not as bad as the PPD), but the impact of the small amount of PTD is negligible. The henna may help hold the color until the next application.

The product I'd great as far as not irritating your skin
The product I'd great as far as not irritating your skin, especially if you are allergic to ppd. But the dam thing does not cover the gray. It just gives the gray hair a gold tint. I called the company to get some pointers, to see if I was applying the hair color incorrectly. I got some cocky jerk on the phone saying I have to mix the cosamo hair color with another hair color and I will get good results. But I'm allergic to ppd. I can't use another color. I had high hopes and they were shattered. My journey to find a good ppd free hair color continues.

I reviewed this previously and stated I would not buy again due to colour washing out/fading too quickly making the cost non economical for me due to how often I had to colour. I had switched to ION PPD free and got better results, initially. Well I have to eat my words because I took a bad allergic reaction to the ION product, even using the ammonia free one. I have returned to Cosamo LYC and have had no allergic reaction so far. Yes, the colour does not last but it's better than a burning, itchy scalp not to mention other health risks. Just wish I could buy locally in Canada to keep shipping costs down.

It is not quite what I thought it would be like I got the dark brown before and when it starts to wash out it turns purple I thought the medium brown would be different but it turns purple as well any suggestions?
