Solarfast Starter Kit

This kit is geared toward small projects and just getting a feel for Solarfast. They give you quite a small amount of three colors of dye, which will do fine if you are making wall art or, as in the shown example, blocking out a small section on the front of a t-shirt. I didn't want to do that, I wanted to dye the whole shirt. I had to use the entirety of all three bottles and thin it with 1 part water / 3 parts dye. I blocked the sunlight with paperboard cutouts and dried leaves that I had prepared beforehand. Planning, preparation, and quick action are necessary for success. Product is colorfast as advertised. I sent it through the laundry twice, once with the provided Solarfast detergent and once with regular detergent. There was no loss of color, nor any blurring. All in all this is a great product. The best idea is to use this kit to get a feel for it, then switch to buying larger amounts of the dye in bulk. I do a lot of tie-dye related projects and it's very rare for anything to come out exactly as I wanted/expected, but Solarfast did. Will definitely be doing more in the future.

I liked this kit as a starting point for getting into sun printing. I wouldn't dilute the ink as some might suggest, as it really weakens the color. It's hard to get the hang of, but it's definitely fun to play around with, and I like the colors it came with.

Perfect kit that teaches you exactly what to do and videos you can watch. I had a hard time doing it but I didn’t have a good set up to start but now I love it

I really enjoy this kit, I have wanted to sun print for a really long time and this kit helped me so much! The kit came with 3 colors and some other tools, a simple YouTube video from the company helped me understand what to do and just like that I was printing designs! This kit is very much worth the price! Overall a great product

Easy to use and super fun project

The kit works great. I wish the kit came with more paper to make more prints but you can reuse the paper for multiple shirts so it’s totally fine for me. Especially great for getting started with solar print making.

The solution is pretty powerful and fast acting on a sunny day. I think you get a pretty good value, although I do wish there were more pieces of film (they only give you 3). The trick to making shirts with this stuff is to make sure the film is FLAT against the tshirt. Not even a millimeter sticking up anywhere. Otherwise you get some condensation that blocks sun as well as a less crisp image because the light has already started to bleed underneath the film. It takes a few tries to really get it right. Buy a piece of glass to put on top, or you can use the glass from a picture frame or something.

Il kit contiene tutto ciò che serve. Io avevo fretta di fare una prova e ho fatto un test con una stampa su fogli di acetato trasparenti. Il risultato è comunque buono. Il colori sono sufficienti per fare un bel po’ di stampe.
