Small Yet Versatile Snap Ring Plier Set
This is a nice set of snap ring pliers, especially when working in a tight space. I needed to replace a missing (assumed broken) snap ring that was holding the steering pinion gear in place on an older Murray riding mower and these snap ring pliers were perfect for the job. I originally bought the IRWIN VISE-GRIP Convertible Snap Pliers with interchangeable tips, but the 90 degree tips are too large to accommodate a 9/16 inch snap ring. These snap ring pliers have graduated tips which means they will practically fit any size snap ring instead of the one size fits all, some, or no tips. While these may not be the right tool for heavy duty jobs, they are just right for most jobs including those in which the snap ring is in a tight space.

Junk
Total junk. Might work for plastic snap rings. Tips are soft and bend easily. Once again I’ll be buying some from channelock or Knipex or something better. Get what you pay for

great for 3-d printing
These pliers seem to have mixed reviews, but I'll tell you what they are really useful for-- pulling support off 3-d printed objects! Both internal pliers are great for this task and the circlip pliers is extremely handy. I am now ordering a second set because I can't find my circlip and I cannot find a good substitute. The two external (jaws open when the handles are squeezed together) pliers are not very useful for 3-D printing though.

Good value and nice set. Has some trouble grabbing small rings
This is a great set of pliers for the price and overall look relatively well-made. However, I had some trouble working with smaller snap rings (5mm dia. and smaller), as the tips of the pliers don't seem sharp enough. I can see a few grooves on the tips meant to hold onto larger rings, but the smallest groove is too high up and not well-defined enough to work with these tiny rings, so the tips end up slipping off. The tips seemed a bit dull and didn't inspire a ton of confidence in grabbing small snap rings, but I was eventually able to get them off. It's nice that this set includes both internal and external pliers, and I found the bent tips to be especially helpful for some tricky spots. Overall, I don't think I can ding these too much as I was working with some truly tiny snap rings. The tools seem relatively well-built aside from the tips, and the grips are nice and comfortable. For the price, it's a great kit that has pretty much all snap ring situations covered.

Worked well
Worked great for removing and reinstalling small circlips. Worked well.

NOT FOR HEAVY DUTY USE - NEED TO CHANGE ADVERTISING TO LIGHT DUTY USE
WOULD BE IDEAL IF PROPERLY ADVERTISED AS FOR LIGHT DUTY USE - IT IS NOT HEAVY DUTY AS ADVERTISED I AM IN THE PROCESS OF RETURNING MY PLYER SET. THESE PLIERS ARE NOT HEAVY DUTY AS ADVERTISED THEY ARE LIGHT DUTY. WITH MY FIRST USE - THE STRAIGHT PLYER TIP ENDS BENT - THEN SNAPPED OFF APPLYING MINIMAL PRESSURE ON A 3/8 SNAP RING. IT DID THE JOB BUT NOT WORTH THE PRICE FOR A TIME THROW AWAY TOOL. OTHERS IN THE REVIEWS GAVE SIMILAR FEEDBACK. HERE ARE EIGHT OF THEM: 1 While these may not be the right tool for heavy duty jobs, they are just right for most jobs 2 Light duty use. Will bend if too much force is applied. 3 I don't think they are tempered tool steel so reducing at all might weaken the tips. 4 They work ok but don't expect them to last beyond a few uses 5 I have had mine for about six months and used them about ten times. The jaws are bent and misshapen to the point that they slip off the circlip when I apply pressure to open it up . The tips are now distorted making it even worse. Wished they had used better steel. 6 Harbor freight would shake there head and turn them down. One set bent on the first use 7 These pliers look very nice but are extremely light weight. The first time I tried to open a small external snap ring the tips bent. Probably OK for very light tension applications 8 I should have read the reviews first. China doesn't make them like they used to. At least I did what I needed to do even though one broke right away. AGAIN THERE ARE GOOD REVIEWS FOR THOSE WHO USE THEM FOR LIGHT DUTY PROJECTS. IF ADVERTISED PROPERLY FOR LIGHT DUTY USE INSTEAD OF HEAVY DUTY THEN THERE WOULD BE FEWER COMPLAINTS.

Nice Quality
I tinker with RC cars, and these are perfect for the job. They are great quality and the perfect size (small)

one tine broke the first time I tried to use one
on my very first usage, one of the tines broke rendering the entire tool useless. In my case I had to use one of the right angle ones due to space constraints, so I had to use the unbroken one in the opposite way it's designed to work. i.e. I had to use the "closing" snap ring tool to remove the ring instead of the "opening" one which was insanely frustrating. I know the tines are small, but maybe use some actual steel?

This plier set isn't even worthy of being sold at a dollar store. The tips are mis-cast, and don't line up. Cheap Chinese garbage! Don't waste your time with these, get Knipex or Channellock instead!
