I messed everything up and my tub still looks great.
I’m just going to swallow my pride and admit this: I made just about every single clumsy, amateur mistake I could have. My bathtub still looks amazing. Hopefully, you can learn from my mistakes. For DIY’ers — resurfacing the tub isn’t a simple project. The amount of prep work that goes into this is no joke. I probably spent 3 hours cleaning the tub, sanding it down, removing caulk, and removing drains and fixtures. My tub was ~40 years old, so the tub drain was pretty stubborn to get off. Three trips to Home Depot and $80 later, I got that corroded old tub drain out. I ended up having to buy a $20 tub drain remover tool. I only bring this up because I had a few surprise expenses that, had I known about before hand, I would have gladly paid a professional to deal with. I got a great arm workout stirring the heavy material in the bucket. I may have broken a sweat even. The product poured on nicely and evenly, and with some coaxing with the foam roller I managed to get an even coat. I did exactly what the videos taught me; around the edges, then the center, then the outside. Over pour, let the product drip, and collect the extra material. At this point, I feel like a true professional. No sticky goo anywhere but in the tub and I’m watching the stuff level out. Proud of my accomplishments (and thirsty), I decide to grab a beer and use the beer bottle as a dam to prevent goo from dripping into the drain (mistake #1). Two hours later, I came back to remove any goo from the drain that may have collected there. Not wearing gloves (mistake #2), I decided to brace myself on the top wall of the tub (mistake #3) and bend over to pull up the damn. Immediately after putting my hand in a pile of white sticky goo I realized what I’d done, and furiously scrubbed my hands with soap. Did I mention this stuff is thick and sticky? Soap wasn’t making any progress — I decided I needed to resort to chemicals, so I went to the closet to find some Goo Gone (leaving a trail of white goo on the handles — mistake #4). After I cleaned myself up, I was able to use the roller to apply some more solution and the spot ended up evening out ok. After I collected myself, I returned to remove the dam around the drain. The solution had started to thicken up quite a bit and it was tough to pull the bottle up. I gently twisted and pulled and removed the beer bottle. In doing so, I managed to pull up my taped off drain cover (mistake #5). The goo was stuck to the bottom of the bottle, and in an effort to keep it out of my drain, I pulled the bottle while twisting and turning it, trying to control the dripping of goo. This caused the last few drops of beer to land in the direct center of the tub (mistake #6). With 2 problems before me, having visions of explaining my embarrassing predicament to a plumber, I decide to focus on the white goo spilling into my drain first. I sprayed Goo Gone on a paper towel and tried to get any of the goo off the threads of the drain first. I eventually got most of it out and setup a walled dam using more painters tape. By the time I got to the drops in the middle of the tub, I few had sank in but I was able to wipe most of them down with a wet paper towel. It wasn’t until the next day did I realize I had made mistake #7 — please double check your paper towels are free of dog hair before doing this. After ~20 hours, the solution had dried and hardened quite a bit. There’s only a few small artifacts of my Three Stooges-esque handyman work. Regardless, the tub looks night and day better than it did. I was able to use an abrasive pad and remove any hair that found its way into the tub. In short: - I found the videos very easy to follow. - I think the product is very high quality - The product is impossibly sticky; I would have really appreciated a video on “how to clean this stuff off” - My bathtub looks AMAZING despite all of the “happy little accidents” - Don’t drink and resurface your bathtub.

This is a great product! Results were amazing - like a factory finish. **It requires very importantly, to follow mixing/timing/usage instructions and most of all PRISTINE PREPARATION. You will not achieve good results with any epoxy or coating if you do not prepare and strip the surfaces adequately FIRST (strip, sand with multi-grit sandpaper, vacuum, wipe clean with varsol and let dry before applying coating. It is likely the most expensive coating on the market, however is very thick and really works at self leveling and believe will stand the test of time on an 60 yr old cast iron double sink that now looks brand new!

It's a scam. Does NOT work. Product leaves runs and ridges and drip lines! If your tub is destroyed it will look better. If your tub is nice it will be destroyed. No warranty. No customer support. I am a professional restoration specialist with 18 yrs experience restoring homes and have specialized in bathroom renovations. The product FAILED even after 3rd attempt. No link to the videos on their website. You must dig deap to find the right ones for each tub, and then it still doesn't work. They say the videos and links are on their website, but they are not. Product is EXTREMELY time sensitive and must be done without a SINGLE glitch. No dust, no drips, must be tolerant of leaks into drain, painted walls and onto flooring. Taped drain with extra tape and a plug, using painters no bleed through tape, and it still filled the drain. Bled though tape on walls also and need to now scrape and re mud and paint around tub. 3 layers of tape and paper on floor and it still got through onto new tiles and grout and was a major mess to clean and chip out of grout. Drip lines on all tub surround walls. Videos once found were followed exactly as stated. New plumbing taps got epoxy into threads as it bleed though tape, had to acetone for an hour to clean and that messed up the wet product on the surround wall. Acetone is the only cleaner, alcohol DOES NOT WORK. If you do try to fix it: Sanding with 60 grit paper takes HOURS and leaves bare patches and does NOT make the surface level and without ripples! (Unlike what customer service so confidently tells you it will) Had to buy a 3rd kit to try to fix the damage. Did NOT work! Total cost: 640 for kits delivered + costs of painting and acetone, etc; +18hrs labour includes sanding, cleaning, repainting, etc; Entire new shower tiled with new tub including demolition and disposal would have been 1200 including labour and would have looked multiple times more professional. BUYER BE WARNED! **Pictures are from 3rd product purchase to repair. Same results. * I have watched over 20 hrs of videos and the product simply does not work. * Has heavy odour also unlike what they state. * Can NOT be worked more than 40 minutes

Granted we only used the product at the beginning of last month (June 2021) so we can't comment on its longevity, but it works exactly as advertised and goes on exactly as shown in the videos. WATCH THE VIDEOS!!!! We watched the newest Long version of the installation process, it was long (over an hour) it was at times boring but 100% worth the watch. See the actual installation and process, listen to what the guy says, and you can't go wrong. Start to finish including cleaning and masking the taps etc, this was an hour and 30 minute process. Two days later everything was set for our first showers. Awesome product! Be warned that gloves (multiple pairs) and lots of floor protection is crucial to a huge mess to clean up. This stuff is sticky like baby poo and will go everywhere if you are not careful. UPDATE: (Aug 2022) just finished our second claw foot tub. first one still looks great in a place with two bachelors. So we did this second claw foot tub. Same results...Awesome!

Was just a little tricky and for me messy..I think that's because I had a hard time reaching across the tub. The product covered amazing except a few spots still have a blue tinge(original colour) Overall an excellent product and I think very good value!

Great finish, don’t get me wrong. But it’s way tricky to work with than videos show. It keeps running for almost 2 hours. So maybe not pouring right after mixing may help work with it without exhaustion of moving the material around for two hours+ sitting on the toilet. All the mess happened in this process only, the initial pour was easy. Don’t know how it’s going to hold up, hopefully long enough for the payback of effort and this more expensive product.
