I bought this to make Mana Pua, it needs to be steamed and the steamer in my rice cooker wasn’t working well. I have been looking at steamers for a while, they all seemed cheaply made and needed additional items to be able to do a proper steam. This was securely wrapped in a plastic sleeve, which was a good feeling, no worries about critters or wear from shipping. The edges are securely bound and the bamboo is a nice thickness of 5 layer wrap. The lid is sturdy and well fitted. There is a small dipping bowl, one set of chopsticks for cooking with and 10 of the fabric net liners. Overall a great bargain or high quality. The value for your money goes beyond the durable product, to the confidence level of its assured quality of use., and the fact that you have all you need except the food!!

I've only really given the product a single test since buying it, but the test went well. The seller sent a friendly note requesting feedback, so while this review has yet to stand the test of time, here are my initial impressions: I obtained this steamer basket to help make steamed dumplings; prior to this point I was using a metal steamer insert to my pot which tended to stick to the pot stickers. The kit comes with two cooking trays and one lid, so for the first test, I tried a double-decker arrangement. The baskets fit nicely over my standard-sized pot, and the product came with a set of small cloth liners to lay atop each bamboo cooker. It was necessary to rotate the positions of the steamer baskets once to get an even cooking (upon which I discovered that over mittens, or at least a towel, would be preferable, especially where the copper fasteners are exposed, but otherwise the dumplings came out great and didn't stick to the cloth. The kit came with several additional cloth liners as well as a small saucer for dumpling sauce, which I have yet to use. So far, I'm happy with the purchase, and eager to try out more things.

Great product but it did come with a small amount of cosmetic damage near the handle. Otherwise I love this bamboo steamer I use par mention paper instead of the liners that come with it because they shrink and still have the food stuck to it even after spraying with nonstick spray. Loved the chopsticks that came with it. I use it to make pork buns and it's done perfect for that job.

This is a pretty slick item. Never used one before, but I needed it for a specific recipe. You need a wok to go with it, as it works on boiling water in the bottom of the wok steaming food in the bamboo containers. You can do two levels of steaming at the same time, like meat/veggies on the bottom, dim sum biscuits on the top. Very cool. Easy to clean.

what a big difference in taste and texture of food... anyone using a stainless steel steamer needs to give bamboo steamers a try. I just chopped up some kale, yellow and red peppers, threw in some purple onions... I didnt even have to season it, I had zero idea how much flavor was being lost steaming in a stainlesssteel steamer... This bambo steamer leaves food nice and perfectly steamed without flavor loss..if you are a steamer and never tried a bambood steamer do yourself a favor and get this thing.. I love the lil chopsticks and sauce plate for dippin dumplings in was a cute lil touch.. Now I want to steam some dumplings...lol

This is one of those "five stars in all categories" transactions... The product: The steamer is entirely bamboo, no metal to rust or stain... The parts fit properly... The washable and thus reusable basket liners are a nice touch... I normally don't write a review this soon (four days) after delivery, but no need to wait... We've used the steamer every day (sometimes twice per day) on dumplings, veggies, fish & pork... Food came out perfectly each time... The transaction: The price was fair for the product and accessories... It arrived at our rural front door 27 hours after we placed the order... Amazon packaging was not excessive... (We had a couple other items in the order so Amazon could not use a snug fit package...) All items were packed safely and arrived complete... We are looking forward to a long useful life for this steamer...

This steamer does exactly what I expected from it. It arrived clean, well fitted, and ready to go! I have only used it a couple of times since I received it about a week or two ago, so I can not attest to its durability. That being said, it appears to be well crafted and sturdy so I expect it to last for the normal duration. I prefer bamboo steamers over any other kind for the natural flavor and for the way it keeps droplets of steam from accumulating onto my steamed food inside. This particular seller contacted me via email to inquire of my satisfaction with the steamer and also gave "steaming tips"...was not necessary for me since I have been steaming for decades, but was a nice experience on the business end. This steamer also came with a little 'sauce bowl' to use in the steamer, a pair of smooth wood chopsticks, as well as some steamer liners for putting food directly on in the steamer basket. I have not used the liners, but they appear to be quite nice in their construction. The steamer baskets all fit nicely together. I have hanger clips on the outside of my kitchen cupboard doors to hang each of the baskets on. This contributes to the baskets drying out and staying free of moisture during their 'down time'. My experience with this steamer has been pleasantly positive and I would recommend this. I will update this review if I feel a part of it has changed.
