The Snooty Bookshop: Fifty Literary Postcards by Tom Gauld Review: Funny cards - If you're into postcrossing, you know that many postcrossers request book-related cards. This set is perfect, as it contains many in-jokes for bibliophiles. And they're actually funny! Review: You'll Recognize These People - I am a collector and sharer of all kinds of postcards AND I love to read, so I knew I had to have this set. First, the collection is titled PERECTLY--the 'Snooty' Bookshop -- we've all been there. Dealing with clerks who were weaned on 'the classics' and make us feel out of place when we're asking for the latest King novel. MOST of these are truly entertaining. I've bought sets before where 2-3 cards were funny and the rest were duds. These are all pretty much great. Made of VERY sturdy cardstock and a nice, shareable size, too. Easy to remove from the booklet as well.

Do you do Postcrossing? If so, a great group of postcards to share
If you do Postcrossing or any other sort of mail exchange, these postcards really hit the mark for anyone who says that they enjoy reading or literature. Wonderful, humorous cartoons, each one different, make the choice of which one to send difficult! And you might not want to send them all, as I'm certain you'll find some personal favorites in this collection.

Laugh out loud funny
Dozens of postcards with funny illustrations related to reading, writing and libraries. The postcards are packaged as a book with very thick pages. I have no intention of using the pages as postcards so have not tried to separate the postcards - I can't speak to the ease/difficulty of doing so. I enjoy Tom Gauld's humour and drawings (indeed, the humour is in the drawings). This did not disappoint. If you're looking to a companion to "You're All just Just Jealous of My Jetpack" or one of his other books, be aware that this is packaged/presented differently. It really is a small thick book of postcards. The illustrations/words are on one side of each page with the back of each page designed for address/stamp.

Great cards
I decided to keep this as a coffee table book. It is too funny to break up the cards and give away. Buy a separate set to send.

Great cartoons. Great concept.
If you are a nerd and you have nerdy friends they will love getting one of these postcards in the mail from you. Tom Gauld's cartoons are smart, funny, and smart. If you are a book nerd, science nerd, history nerd, or pop culture nerd, (any kind of nerd, really), you will love these postcards. I'm saving my three favorites to frame and sending the rest to friends and family to share the Gauldiness!

Cool Postcards in Terrible Packaging
We quite like the content of these - they are funny, although not as many fit the theme as we expected - but the way they are packaged is absolutely terrible. Think a book of postcards but the book is thick cardboard. You can't store the postcards in it like you would a box (why they couldn't have just put these in a box and made it easy for everyone is beyond me) and you also can't cut up the cover to make a bookmark or something. The cards were extremely difficult to remove from the glued edge; I tore four (and my husband and I are experts at separating postcards; we have hundreds of sets). The paper quality could be better too. If it wasn't for the packaging, I would have given these four stars.

Got this today, started to thumb through them, and began to laugh out loud. Yes I’ve seen many before and they’re still funny. Can’t remember when a simple purchase made me this happy. There is one problem: Do I hoard them or send them to friends? What a delightful dilemma.
