Very well made & stag handle looks very good, wish the blade was sharper.

I'll be honest, this is intended as mostly as a decorative item. It makes a fair letter opener. It is not ment to be used as a knife. However if you've a mind to, know what you're doing and have patience you can put a useful edge on this wonderfully made little knife. Be warned tho, this has been beautifully polished to a mirror finish. One slip up and you'll scratch the blade. This is handmade so there may be small imperfections in the real antler grip or sheath. No matter, they'll only add character to it. I'll be glad to have this tucked in my sock. (Which is where a Sigan Dubh is carried). See you at the Highland Games !

Lee is a master craftsman. You can see his pride in the sterile presentation of this beautiful blade. The very definition of class. The perfect size for its intent . We Scottish like sound purpose and a wee bit of flair. I was able to lock the shape of the knife into the leather with a bit of water, and put a scalpel sharp edge on it. By two!

I bought this knife for my grandson. Wasn't too sure from the picture about the shaved area on the stag horn handle. Well, I couldn't get over what a remarkable, high quality, well made, absolutely gorgeous knife this is when I slit open the mailing envelope. Workmanship is beyond outstanding. The blade is not sharp; but anyone who owns knives will know how to sharpen it. I'm still blown away by what a beautiful item this is. This will be a first rate Christmas gift--and one I'm proud to give!

I was stunned when I open the box: the sheath was stout & nice; the blade had good, plain lines; the plain silver-metal butt cap was well executed; and then there is the stag handle - nice enough but very small, only 2 1/2 inches. The workmanship makes it a keeper but the size makes it a novelty. Would make a good gift for a young kiltie!

An absolutely exceptional Sgian Dubh. Incredible craftsmanship and well worth every penny. I read another review that stated it was small, or boy sized. However, the dimensions are spot on based on historical documentation. Remember this isn’t a combat dagger. It is a utility knife or last ditch self defense weapon. It is perfectly suited for traditional civilian use.

Received the Genuine Sambar Stag Handle Sheffield Carbon Steel Sgian Dubh Knife Boxed with Leather Sheath and I am very pleased with it. The handle is very nice stag horn and the blade is reasonably sharp and easily brought to a razors edge. The handle and blade are well attached making this knife a hearty and useful tool. I highly recommend this Sgian Dubh Knifeand would purchase it again.
