I love mushrooms and dried porcinis concentrate the rich woodsy flavor to enhance any pasta dish.

So far, made mushroom risotto, mushroom and paste, both turned out delicious. Using the soaking liquid is where all of the flavor resides. Don't throw it away!

Made an amazing cream soup recipe with it. Yes, it has grit and ALL dried porcini will have grit, no matter the brand. I washed and washed like you are supposed to but the grit hides in the nooks and crannies. After cooking, the residual grit sank to the bottom...I knew it was there so I carefully avoided serving that part. If you can't handle that, then you'd better avoid dried porcini. But if you are willing to work with it, it is very worthwhile and there is no match for this wonderful flavor in recipes.

Flavour ok. However, even after several rinses, still gritty with sand/dirt. Have used dried porcinis many times before but these are by far the most gritty. I provided feedback to seller a frw days ago but have not received feedback as of yet.
