If you are looking to learn without soldering, THIS IS THE KIT!!
This kit is awesome! My daughter loves learning about Circuits and Magnetism. We are computer systems administrators so this review is from a professional perspective. This is a step above snap! We dislike snap! This is great for kids and students where soldering is either too dangerous or time constraints are an issue. The pages are detailed, but a book on basic electronics that is AGE APPROPRIATE will be beneficial. You will learn to build series and parallel circuits immediately. There is some discussion of schematics, but just surface level. Again, lots of info for this in on the web. I love the crank and motors that are included, but i suggest using a colored disk (think pie wedges that are red, yellow, blue etc and trying different combinations and maybe getting a pinwheel to further show motors use). I love the switches and battery enclosures. While designed for middle and High School Students- this kit works with kids from ages 6+ if properly instructed. Double AA betteries will be the only thing you need to stock up on. I wish I had this kit growing up. I was soldering by age 10, but the ease of this may have helped me explore more difficult concepts like 3 way wiring earlier. Yes, you can do that with this kit.

Fun and engaging!
I bought 2 kits over 5 years ago and they have held up so well! I’ve used them in science classes ranging from ages 10 -16 for both an electricity intro and review. I like to set up stations for the students to work through in a small group. This is appropriate for both home or classroom use, individual or group work. Easy to follow instructions, while introducing and exploring difficult concepts. Great price! Would also make a great gift.

Bought it for my 4 year old, and the absolute basics are perfect
I bought this so I can demonstrate basic circuits to my 4 year old who loves light bulbs and wants to watch "how it's made" for every gadget he finds interesting. This set is so much better than snap circuits or the multikit I had when I was a kid for absolute basics. 1. He knows what a wire is, but a snap circuit wire trace is beyond his comprehension right now and would add complexity to building a simple circuit 2. The knife switches (spst and one spdt) don't have plastic covers so you can see the contact being made directly. That's important for a 4 year old who can't intuitively understand the inner workings of a simple switch yet. 3. The electric motor with no case is briiliant. You can see the commutator and tiny sparks where the "brushes" make contact. Absolutely no better way to show a kid how a motor works! 4. Snapping the battery cases together for parallel or series is brilliant for teaching without having a mess of wires! 5. An open battery case (with LED's) is perfect for teaching a kid battery polarity and how to install batteries the right way 6. The open nature of the bulb housing makes it so eay to point out how there are two contacts _without_ having to point out what an insulator is. I though it looked cheap but now I appreciate what a great design it is. Sure there are things I can't teach my 4 year old yet, but the basic parts of this set are brilliant teaching aids so they can understand the absolute basics we take for granted like what is happening inside a switch that has a cover over the actual mechanism (like all the snap circuit ones do)

The product generally corresponds to the description.👌
The goods arrived in good packaging on time, even 2 days earlier. I'll stop by and see everything, in general, I'm happy with everything, everything corresponds to the description, the only thing is that I had a problem. This is what turned out to be in the set, two manufacturing defects. The first is a generator, and the second is a compass. It’s very sad that these parts were defective, because I’m going to work with them, and they don’t work, and now I’ll be scratching my head. How to do this, but I don’t want to return the goods for the reason that I am generally happy with them, but in connection with these two marriages. I'll think about the question. Will I continue to buy this set? Where do you need the seller? Will he have another marriage like this? This set is well suited for clearly showing children electrical engineering and electromechanics and teaching them everything, but a question arises about these two defective parts, and I was going to buy several more sets in the future. Well, in this set, I was a little disappointed that I had two defective parts. And so, otherwise everything I am happy with in other things. It was a good experience.

Great for that science kid
I bought this for my grandson and he was thrilled with a gift. He couldn't wait to get started on some of the experiments. My grandson's happy. I'm happy.

Great kit - faulty magnet
This is a good, basic kit. The quality isn't amazing, but the kit is inexpensive. However, the polarity of the horseshoe magnet in my kit is incorrect. Inside the horseshoe the polarity is reversed, meaning that the experiments appear to demonstrate exactly the opposite of what they should e.g. when using the magnet with the double rail module, the force is exerted in exactly the opposite direction to that which should be created given the N/S markings on the magnet. This makes this kit unusable for such experiments/demonstrations. However, generally it is a good kit.

Really cool
It's like Snap Circuits for older kids, and with a lot more cool parts like Voltmeter and Ammeter, compass, magnets, wheels for car bases, etc. Our 6 yr old with Asperger's (high functioning autism) loves electricity, mechanical stuff, moving parts, etc. His level of understanding is well above the average 6 yr old when it comes to this stuff. This kit has kept him busy for literally hours on end, and it's his reward for getting his homeschool work done. Our 8 and 13 yr olds also like dabbling with it. What some people won't like: there are more parts than instructions. It shows you the basics of circuits, shows you how to not do it wrong, then sends you on your way to explore and build. What some people WILL like: same as above. Science-minded people will love being able to create their own stuff, and troubleshooting when it goes wrong is such an important part of learning.
