Great for gaining reading skills
These readers are great! They are the same ones my child uses at school. I bought these for the summer to prevent the summer slide and to maybe even increase a level. I found if we read these daily, commit to one for a week at a time, she was able to progress. She just finished Kinder and reads at a G!

Great for Next Level Reading After Bob Books
I was looking for books that were a little more challenging, but also short, after the Bob Books. I bought so many different kinds and they weren't helpful. These were perfect for my grandson as a next level from his Bob Book reading. They aren't too easy and they aren't too hard. They introduce new words slowly, and the stories are funny and cute.

Nice step up from Bob Books.
I've been using Bob books to help my first grader learn to read (the joys of virtual school this year, as many understand right now). The virtual lessons in reading and phonics don't really work over Zoom so I use these types of books along with a book called Phonics Pathways to craft our own curriculum. We worked through all of the Bob options so I chose these Little Readers because they match the GRL system our school uses. My son likes these books more - the stories are a little funnier and more varied than Bob offered. In fact, he browses these books on his own and reads by himself, whereas he typically ignored the Bob books until we had our formal sit-down lesson time. I like both companies' sets, for sure, but these are a very useful step up in terms of presenting a gradual learning curve and a decent level of entertainment.

Really spans the gap between simple books and the harder beginner books. Great set!
Perfect for new readers that are in between BOB books and those Level 1,2,3 books. My daughter was bored and uninspired with the “ See Bob”, “ See Bob’s hat”, “See Nan’s hat”...... but too early for “Dolphins like to jump and spin in the air as they swim through the ocean at lightening fast speeds”! These books were just right, a great combination of interesting story but not too difficult words. It really gave her the confidence and excitement to practice reading and finally make it over the hurdle to being able to read “ real” books. She would sit down with the whole box and read one after another, she was so pleased with herself. And we were so happy to see her delighting in reading! Highly recommend!

I bought these for my dyslexic seven year old to help get her reading skills up over the summer. She loves them, the stories are engaging enough for her not to feel 'babyish' , yet use simple enough words for her to decode (she has a reading age more consistant with a year 1 child). A great buy and I will be looking to buy more in the series as he ability increases.

I love using thses books in my independent reading groups. Repeating words give more confidence to the reader.
