SatLink ST-7000 HDMI or RCA to RF Digital Modulator Delivers 1080p Video to TVs as HD ATSC or QAM (J.83B) Channel via Coax Network Review: Setup was a breeze - So far so good, its only been running a few days so we will see as others here have complained that it failed in short order. But others have also said grainy picture, and difficult set up. Yet the setup was so simple! I plugged it into my network went to the IP address and set the configuration. The one guy complaining about grainy picture, did you try a signal amplifier? the first TV had a great picture, the one on the other side of the house was grainy. I put in an amplifier before my distribution switch and whala, beautiful picture everywhere. This is radio frequency running down coax, the further it travels and the more splits the more signal degradation you will observe, therefore the more amplification you will need to provide. Too high of power = problem, too low of power = problem. you have to balance your down stream based on your usage. It does give you the option of changing the output power between 70 and 100 DBuV. you get it too high and your drown out other signals, too low and you'll get a crappy picture. 100 was killing other channels 75 is working great for me. The only negative I can report thus far is that it has no option to handle overscan, and it cuts the very edge of the image off. you don't notice it when movies are playing in full screen but I am pushing a computer over it and it cuts the edges of the start bar and edges off. not a deal breaker but just so others are aware. but it is a beautiful 1080P picture, much better quality than I anticipated. Review: Great Picture Quality - I am using this for distributing my security system HDMI video. It was basically plug and play hookup, so it was very east to install. The video quality is excellent and is sending clear video throughout my residence to carious monitors. Yes, I am sending the signal through a splitter to different rooms over basic coax cable. It sends the signal just like a regular over the air digital TV signal so my TV's had no issue accepting the signal. This is an expensive product but it certainly blows lesser priced options out of the water. If you want a clear, HD quality signal this is the product to use.

Long time owner, these are solid with some caveats
This is a solid ATSC modulator, I have owned mine for a couple of years and I have 2 MX-100Rs also. They are easy to setup, but do note as others have reported there does seem to be some compatability issues with some displays. My environment has several displays from various manufacturers from Sony to Sharp to Samsung. Really, my main Samsung display is the only one that has issues where the audio drops for a split second every few minutes and over extended viewing the image gets garbled. Changing channel up or down then back to the assigned channel for the modulator resolves the issue temporarily with the glitched image, but does not resolve periodic audio drops. Since has only affected one spesific display I chalk it up to this particular Samsung display not playing nice. Gonna try to using a cheap ATSC tuner and just run that via HDMI to this display, see if another tuner inline will solve it. The Samsung seems to slowly become more delayed vs other displays connected to my main DA, so I think it's trying to do some processing or something and has trouble keeping up. When I bought these I did report it to the manufacturerand we tried to resolve it, but we couldn't, since it works on 5 other displays I've kept these and as mentioned have owned for a couple of years with zero issues other than this one display not liking the feed from these. Overall though, these are solid and reliable modulators.

DO NOT BUY - NOT COMPATIBLE WITH ALL TVs AND ISSUES WITH HDMI SOURCES
This satlink st-7000 fails to connect to most common hdmi sources and after some hours it turns the picture to purple or static and the only solution it to power it off and on. Tried to upgrade to the latest firmware and it does the same. Sometimes it just goes to black screen, no audio or distorted audio. Also the Quality of the signal is not good as it cannot reach all my TVs so you need to install an amplifier, but the biggest problem is the compatibility with the American TV Standard as some of my TVs cannot either find this channel. After 3 days i returned this item. Very frustrated. Do not buy.

Absolutely Awesome Product! Easy to program, reliable, Work Perfect, no sideband/harmonic noise
These are incredible! I used them to inject Full High Def Video from my Digital CCTV System & and Satellite feed into my antenna and home TV distribution system. I simply tune them to an un-used channel, balance signal levels with the built in level control, add 3db pads if needed, and inject into my distribution amplifiers. Feeds all the TV's in my home plus my Silicon Dust IP Tuners. I have not had the first problem with them. So awesome to be able to tune to one channel and see all my cameras around the house while I'm in bed, tune to another for a satellite feed, plus all the antenna channels with NO interference anywhere. The RF Satellite remotes are setup for the TV in each room and make it perfect! Pause a movie in the living room, and play it in the bedroom or kitchen.

Second time is a charn
The first one I recieved apparently did not work properly and failed within minutes of being installed. The replacement unit was up and running with very little effort or time. These are a little pricey, but I'm considering at least one more for our external security cameras. I know it's a little on the old school side in concept, but it's simple and easy to use. We already have lots app based content, but it's nice to have this option to broadcast our on content throughout the house. Picture quality is great, but limited to our content and 1080p. Which is basically a channel for old movies.

Worked right out of the box with my digital over the air TV! — default was channel 14-1 I expect this will be the same for most USA and Canada over the air TV users Connected this modulator between my roof antenna coax cable and 8 port amplified coax splitter. Only had to change the channel from 14 to 50 (unused ota channel in my area), and also lowered the gain from default 100 to 85. I was able to easily change the settings on the unit itself. Plugged in a Roku 4K HDMI streaming stick and got a sharp 1080P picture and sound on all TV’s in my house on channel 50-1. Recommend watching YouTube videos on this unit to help understand set up. I found it easy to navigate on the unit to change basic settings like channel number and gain. My main use for this modulator is for entertaining/parties to play music videos, YouTube, etc on all TV’s in the house (in sync). Also access to Roku channels on all my TV’s Update: Also discovered if you connect your antenna to the input and unplug the modulator power, it will still pass a tv channels without any loss in antenna reception.

I wanted to give access of 1 hdmi device like Roku or fire tv to all of my OTA (over the air) tv. I have 4 tv but only 1 of them has a major delay between audio and video! Any idea what do I have to check to avoid that delay?

This gadget saved us from having to put our 55” TV in the landfill when the HDMI inputs were fried by a surge. It was easy to set up using the built in LCD display. I only had to change the default output channel frequency to avoid conflict with our local channels. Very good HD picture quality (not 4K). I connected it between the HDMI output of our AV receiver and the coax input of the TV. Be aware that this results in the audio from the home theater speakers being out of sync with the video because the modulator adds delay. Fortunately my AV receiver has an audio delay setting. I added 420ms to 500ms delay to the audio and it matches with the picture now. Make sure your AV receiver has this feature if you are connecting your unit this way. If you are using the speakers in the TV set, it’s not an issue.
