This adapter worked very well with our US-based plugs/cords to charge our phones & other devices in India. It is well-made, sturdy, and has good number of USB-C, USB-A & regular plug-in outlets. I'm glad I bought this before my travel to India.

So I bought this US-to-India Type D Adapter because I wanted all my gadgets to survive my India trip… and maybe also feel slightly more important than I really am. Here’s the deal: Why It’s Basically My Travel Sidekick: Outlet Overload in a Tiny Box: Three AC outlets plus four USB ports? It’s like a party for my phone, laptop, camera, and power bank — and they’re all invited. Type D Plug Power: This fits into India’s Type D sockets (those three round prongs in a triangle) like a glove… a very specific, round‑pronged glove. India outlets use Type D, so this adapter nails that. adaptermart.com +1 Little USB Ports Everywhere: Want to charge your phone, AirPods, and your friend’s two random USB‑powered devices at once? Boom — you got it. Built for Travel but Not for Hair Dryers: Just a heads-up — this is an adapter, not a voltage converter. That means if your US hair dryer only knows 110V, it’ll be singing a high-pitched farewell in India’s 230V outlets. Cable Matters Sturdy Enough to Not Self-Destruct: It’s not a flimsy brick — feels like it was built by someone who’s been yelled at by travelers before. Quirky Things I Noticed (Because Yes, There Are): Can Be a Bit Bulky: With all those outlets + USBs, the unit is not exactly a feather. My suitcase now has a side hustle as an electronics gym. Pin Size Matters: Type D plugs are pretty chunky. Make sure your hotel’s socket isn’t playing “how many pins can I hide” — not all wall sockets love big plugs. adaptermart.com No Voltage Magic: As much as I wish, this thing doesn’t convert India’s 230V power down to 110V. So, no curling iron or single‑voltage hair dryer unless you’re also packing a voltage converter. travelothon.com +1 Bottom Line: If you’re headed to India (or anywhere else that uses the Type D plug) and you don’t want to play “which USB outlet do I pick” every night, this adapter is your new BFF. It’s like a tiny power strip that fits in your suitcase — helpful, reliable, and surprisingly smart. Just don’t try to plug in your 110V-only monster devices without checking their voltage first. 5/5 — Born to travel, built to power.

I purchased this to take to Sri Lanka. It worked with the older homes that has the round outlet points. But most of the outlet points in hotels and Air B & Bs had rectangle points.
