Mother Dirt AO+ Mist Skin Probiotic Spray, Preservative-Free, 100 mL

I made the most of lockdown and stopped using soap in the shower, while applying this mist every morning. It took a few days of smelly armpits but after a couple of weeks this makes a huge difference: I now only scrub with water in the shower. Then use a natural and aluminium free deodorant (Salt of the Earth) which never used to work before. I also have less acne. I’ve stopped using the AO mist - as long as I don’t use soap I think the skin micro biome now sustains itself. Awesome. Skin care is now so much easier and cheaper.

So far so good. Have noticed a difference already on my skin. Less itchy and haven’t needed to use as much deodorant.

The most important thing with this product for me always was; Does it actually work? Well, 6 weeks after using it religiously every single day as instructed, and keeping it in the fridge again as instructed, I have a clear answer; It does not work. I am really, deeply disappointed as I genuinely wanted this to work. I cannot generalise that it cannot and will not work for everyone. I can only tell you if it worked for me. So, you may still wish to give it a go....a rather expensive go, but it is your decision. After all this time, I discovered that it does not do anything to actually neutralise any odours, specially in the armpits where I have used this for 6 weeks now. Not only no difference at all, but about 4 to 5 weeks in, I noticed that the body odour in that area actually changed....for the worse. It was supposed to deliver favourable results in 4 weeks. Under the circumstances I cannot recommend this product at all. My view based on my experience is to Avoid, specially as it is a quite pricey proposition in the first place and even more disappointing then when it does not deliver.

The spray does work for some people- it made a difference in terms of not needing deodorant which very surprising. However this may not work for everyone depending on your biome. Remember it needs to go on clean skin and should be kept in the fridge. If you take antibiotics or use antibacterial soaps it may not work. This is a probiotic product that will help some people in balancing out their biome but it is not universally effective. It's similar to eating yoghurts or fermented foods, for some people it improves their health considerably and for some it does nothing noticeable.

I bought this after watching a Caroline Hirons end of 2019 empties review video on Youtube. CH mentioned that it was great for eczema and psoriasis prone skin. I have followed Caroline Hirons for a number of years now and rate her advice as it has helped me to heal my oily / combination skin and make it look and feel so much better, so I thought I would give it a go. I didn't purchase this on Amazon as it's not available, but I would if they stocked it. I have had my psoriasis for over 15 years and it is really embarrassing as it makes me look like I have major dandruff - the scalp flakes become itchy and fall onto the back of my jumper - it's really not fun. Within the first 24 hours, the itchy, flaky area at the back of my scalp calmed, no feeling of needing to itch. I am now a week into using it and I have no psoriasis scales, redness or flakes. I store it in the fridge and use morning and evening. I know that at £49 a bottle it isn't cheap, however, I will definitely repurchase as this is the ONLY thing to have worked on my psoriasis, and I've tried everything to heal it. This stuff is genuinely amazing - we need more probiotics in products and hopefully, doctors will be able to prescribe similar products to patients to help with their skin complaints.

Yes its expensive but it lasts me 3 months. I bought it firstly because my daughter could not tolerate any deodorants and even her own sweat caused her rashes. Her underarms would be so sore! As for me I use it as a deodorant and one spray under each arm keeps me scent free for 24hrs.

I bought this product to help with my dry skin and eczema, localised on my hands. It did absolutely nothing at best, and at worse, may have actually irritated my skin and worsened my condition. Don't buy this for dry skin or similar uses. Complete waste of money.

I was on 1.5 years of several broad-spectrum antibiotics for Lyme disease. Afterwards, my face started breaking out with acne across my cheeks, forehead and chin. I'm 37, and eat a clean diet, so this was unusual (and embarrassing!) for me. After about 6 months of this, I decided to try the trio of Mother Dirt skincare products recommended by the book 10% Human: the AO+ Mist, the moisturizer, and the wash. I started using everything in early December 2017 on my face (didn't need to use it elsewhere, and wanted to make it last, because of the cost). I saw minor improvement within about 1 month. My skin was breaking out a bit less frequently, I no longer had spots of dryness, and my skin had more natural glow (not greasiness - just a more healthy glimmer to it). By the end of the second month, I noticed significant improvement. My skin is still not perfect, but at least I don't feel like I'm back in high school! The difference to me is well worth the cost. I have had the same bottle of spray for a little over 3 months. I use 3 sprays on my face in the morning, and then again at night. First I use the wash to remove my makeup (it's very effective as long as you pay extra attention around the eyes to remove mascara and eyeliner; I use 1-2 pumps of the wash); then I apply 2 pumps of moisturizer, followed by 3 spritzes of the AO+ Mist. In the morning, I apply the moisturizer to my face after showering, then spritz 3x with the AO+ Mist. Afterwards, I apply my foundation. I'm sure my skin would be healthier without foundation...but I'm not yet ready for that ;) The first thing I ran out of was the moisturizer. It lasted about 6 weeks. (ThriveMarket.com is the cheapest place to buy it.) Next up was the wash. I bought the large bottle. It lasted about 7 to 8 weeks. (ThriveMarket.com is the cheapest place to buy it.) Finally, I'm still on my first bottle of the AO+ Mist (has lasted 3+ months). Going to reorder now, as I'm nearly empty. (I'll reorder on Amazon, or else at the MotherDirt.com website, where they have a 20% off coupon for first time orders). I highly recommend Mother Dirt products to help restore more balance to your skin. If possible, give the products a few months, and then gauge the difference in your skin.

Produit outrageusement cher et complètement inefficace.

I didn't think this would do anything, boy was I wrong. I am preparing to backpack the Appalachian Trail and have been looking for some products to help keep me fresh during my trek. I also read into some stories about people using this product to completely stop taking showers. I have been using it every day at least once and especially after doing something that makes me sweat. I don't really have too much of a problem with body odor, but if I didn't shower after working out or something strenuous, I would definitely have a little funk going on before I started using this product. I read some stories about people using this product and stopping showers all together which intrigued me. I didn't completely stop showering and wash my hair and feet every day because I just can't handle the oily feeling and I rinse my body off if I get visibly dirty, but I have dramatically cut down on the amount of water I use. I can tell you this product works for me. I don't even have to use deodorant because my body just doesn't stink anymore. I plan to continue to use this product daily for at least two months and experimenting with stopping and seeing if the effects diminish or persist after discontinuing it. I have tried 3 products including this one, the other two are by LiviaOne and Dermatic. Dermatic's product caused me to have a pretty bad skin reaction and my whole face became red and inflamed. It also had a very foul smell which had a very distinct aroma of rot which made me sick to my stomach. I would not recommend that one. LiviaOne's product didn't smell or produce any skin reactions which was a plus, but the bottle was very small and did not last very long. Mother Dirt's AO+ had the most noticeable results and also has a very light but pleasant smell. It also came in a tightly wrapped pouch with 2 reusable ice packs which is a bonus, they are used to keep the bacteria cold during transport and extend the life of the bacteria. I'm very happy with this brand and will buy again.

Without going into a long diatribe about my history or personal issues,.. I'll just say that AO Mist really surprised me with how much healthier and happier my skin feels and looks, and the effectiveness in changing my body smell has been phenomenal. Here's a few bullet points of observations: * I've been using it for about 1 week now. I normally only get 1 time of spraying per 24hour day (usually in the early morning between 6am and 7am). This first bottle was more of a "test run" for me.. to see if it works like they say it does. I wouldn't say its perfectly 100% a magical solution,.. but the transformative nature of it (for me) has been very noticeable. * I haven't stopped showering completely.. but I have scaled back my showers to be a lot shorter using only cool water and no soaps or chemicals of any kind. It's really interesting to get up in the morning and take a quick cool shower and notice that I don't smell. Then work all day. Then come home around 4pm to 5pm and take another quick, cool shower and still not smell. At all. Without any soap or anything. It's a bit mind-blowing to be honest. (especially after a life-long struggle of skin issues). * My job usually keeps me pretty heavily active (like, 10 or 12 hour days.. where sweat is running down my body, sometimes even as early as 7am). So there are literally days when I'm sweating non-stop for an entire 8 or 10 or 12 hour shift just due to how physically active I am. What I notice using AO Mist.. is that I can now sweat for much longer periods of time and still smell neutral. Obviously once you start getting into that 10, 12 or 14hour length of time without a shower.. and the fact I'm only spraying 1 time a day.. things can get smelly unavoidably. I think if I was spraying twice a day.. that would be less of a problem. * I also notice a distinct difference in the way I smell. Prior to AO Mist,.. it was more of an acrid/ammonia/sour type of pungent sweaty funk. That's pretty much all but gone.. and the AO Mist has changed that dynamic so that when I do get smelly now,. it's more "balanced" (for lack of a better word?) and toned down. Since AO Mist neutralizes the ammonia and converts it to Nitrogen(s),. I find the smell more subtle and "earthy" (again, for lack of a better word). So.. given my experience so far,. I'm absolutely thrilled. This is a product that helps me achieve healthier skin without all the harsh chemicals or damage. I mean.. this product actually works BETTER,. the more you sweat. (Because the Nitrosonomas Eutropha bacteria is feeding off the ammonia and other things in your sweat). It's literally the exact opposite of harsh deodorants/anti-perspirants. Which is exactly what I've always been looking for. I don't wanna go to far or be hyperbolic and say "Customer for life!!"... but I could certainly see that happening if the science behind this keeps improving.
