Sturdy, attractive and works well
My first impression was that it looked good, was lighter than I expected and felt like a high quality item. It arrived rapidly, was carefully packed and came complete with power supply (I have not tried the latter). When connected to my computer it performs just as I had hoped it would. Data is transferred immediately from my external hard drive while music CDs play without delay from an external optical drive, both connected through this hub. My expectations were fairly basic, but this piece of kit exceeds them: it does what I want it to do and it looks and feels like something I enjoy using.

Quality Product!
I needed a powered hub to connect an audio interface and midi keyboard to my iPhone using a camera connection kit as the phone was unable to provide enough power to these devices on it's own. This powered hub worked a treat and can even charge the phone with the dedicated charge port. I chose this unit due over others the supplied USB cable is a decent length and can be replaced in future if need be. Other units have a fixed cable which can't. Also the unit was reasonably priced. I was surprised at the quality of this product. It feels like a premium product, well built and classy looking with LED lights to indicate which ports are activated. I'm happy with this purchase and would not hesitate to recommend.

solid, reliable with a couple of annoyances...
The Good: * USB 3.0 ports are as fast as I expected AND I didn't need to use the 5V PSU even though I had a very long USB cable to my PC. Tops marks. I could have saved a few £££ by not buying the adapter version, oh well. * Neat/smart looks good. * USB to HUB Cable has a nice chunky/solid adapter (not like another version I have used which starts to wobble and lose connectivity over time) and I have faith in it. * Price is OK for a well made product that is quite functional and straightforward is it's use and it's relatively compact. The Bad: * It does state this BUT I saw 5 ports and I thought I would get 5 USB ports, I didn't: I got 4+1 'charging port' Why the charging port couldn't have carried data too I don't know. * The charging port varies in the power it provides. Right now it is slower than a standard port, my Samsung A53 (now 50% full) will take 4 hrs using the 'smart charging port' or 1½ hours using a standard USB port (and I get data). However I just plugged my phone in again it now states the same as a standard port (1½ hours). * The charging port is NOT a fast charging point and it should be. The Ugly: * There is no option to turn the lights off on the hub itself when the PC is off other than to trawl through your BIOS settings to find the relevant setting. At night I don't want bright blue lights staring at me. I could press the each port button to off, but I have my mouse and keyboard plugged in and I really don't want to do that every time. Also (at least with my motherboard) if a device is using power (like a phone charging or a USB light) it will keep the PC USB power UP even if you have deactivated it in the BIOS when you power down. For me, the Hub is worth more than 3 stars but a little less than 4 stars (so 7/10)

THICK, SHEER and VALUE FOR MONEY
So the features I had to rate, were: Thickness - IT'S THICK AND CHUNKY. Check, 5/5 Sheerness - Honestly I have no clue what this means in this context, so it was unfair to give anything other than 5/5 Value for Money - I mean, I think so? Like if it cost less then didn't work it wouldn't be value for money, it's around the same price as every other powered 4 port USB 3 hub, so, like 5/5 again? It arrived in a box with 2 other items of a similar size, which had space for like 2 more, 3 laptops and a set of speakers, but luckily thanks to the life a tree gave, was all held in place with a LOT of brown paper. It comes in an unassuming brown box with a little folded piece of paper with words on it that I didn't read, a little business card with some incorrectly worded sentence, the gist of which was, 6 months extra warranty, a tiny wall wart psu and a short usb cable which I immediately discarded since I'd bought a much longer one so that I could place it where I needed it. Upon first turning it on, all the ports lit up blue. I only needed one for now, holding the button next to the ports I didn't need for approximately one second turned them off. I turn the one I DO use off when I don't need it, and switch it back on when I do, which happens instantly. So you're unlikely to accidentally turn it off and can turn it on without having to wait forever (1 second can be a long time if you're REALLY ready to do something). Not much else to say. I haven't plugged in an external drive yet, only an 88 key midi controller that's bus powered, and that works just peachy. Until proven otherwise, it seems to do exactly what it said it would. Oh, and don't forget it's REALLY thick.

It works with a lot of devices..
. and extremely fast with SATA 3 USB HDD adapter which I own (Not this brand tho - Ugreen, but great combination) PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS>> Thank you. Pictures are best.. The above are ALL connected from RED (Charger), SD/MicroSD card adapter, My re-chargable mouse, 64GB USB stick and last is USB sata adapter. They all work great and can be turned on and off when not needed.. Other photo's are the bits where able to unplug and show.. Pictures speak louder than words sometimes.. Trust me - when ALL lights on they are all plugged in and working.. Q/A - Disregard that.. I can help more if you have questions. 1 person asked - can you charge devices when laptop is turned off? answer was no.. That is wrong.. You don't have to have this connected to laptop to charge.. It's mains and each USB port will act as a charger. The RED one is only a smart charger. I have plugged in 2 phones and a tablet into the BLUE sockets without laptop connection and they charge as normal.. Any questions about this device then please ask me.. Will test with PS3 later as it was asked about PS4.. Will work with both if it works with one of them.. Remember - Just ask me (Sorry about 4th.. USB SD/MicroSD card adapter - MicroSD fitted. fine with adapter to SD into adapter -..image is upside down. sorry) - works OK with 6th image.(Just added). lol.. Tested with whatever I had at hand and worked fine with ALL.. Highly recommended.. OH.. Windows Lumia 640 LTE connected to get these photo's to post here.. It just works..

No notes
Perfect. I had no always on USB ports on my computer so bought mainly for that so I could charge my mouse in the dock when my PC wasnt on. This ended up being so much more useful then I had anticipated. Worked as soon as I plugged it in and also now very easily transfer it to my work laptop when needed.
