Great starter book
Not much info on each of the watches featured, but some good basic info on movements and general points. Photography is pretty unadventurous, but the pictures are clear.

Great book
Great book. Lots of photos and lots of affordable watches not the usual ones that are out of reach of the average pocket.

Bought this as a Christmas present; the recipient loved it and commented on the writing style being engaging as well as informative, almost like narrative. It's not Dorling Kindersely, but a respectable alternative.

wouldnt recommend to a watch hobbiest.
book content was more about design and fashion, not history, evolution and info about pioneers in watch business.

There was no description on the product page, so I was suprised when I got the book - it has a cutout front cover that reveals the image on the first page - kinda gimmicky to me. Im afraid as I start browsing through the book I may find a pop-up section or some unexpected sounds or some other "features". It is about 6" x 8" - a little small and the fit and finish arent the best - the text is noticeably misaligned from page to page. The price is still good however, for plenty of decent photos and info.

For beginners, plenty of models to see and some information on the brands and models. Organized by watch types, makes it a good reference book and to compare how each brand adapted the classic styles of each type: divers, aviations, militaries, etc.

This book has a lot of pictures of random watches, but not a lot of details about the actual watches. And then, scattered throughout these 1000+ images is some small paragraphs that go deep on watch details (e.g., how a chrono movement works). Not bad, but not what I had hoped.
