Stands up to portable speakers ten times it's price and a lot of extra features
First of all, for the record Ive had several different bluetooth speakers over time. Starting from Altec Lansing, to JBL, and various off amazon and from gas stations you name it. For the money and I went through looking at more than you could imagine on amazon this time. This product is by far and away the best I have had for the money. When they handed me the box upon delivery I was like wow this thing is heavy. Heavy doesn't always mean well made though but the product seems quality. I think the weight though is mainly coming from the 6600mah battery and driver magnet. Similar shaped and priced speakers on here have around 2500mah battery. So this battery size is almost three times that. Haven't really tested it for battery life yet but I like that you can turn the lights off if you want. My only real nitpick regarding the lights is you can't fool around with colors or changing the light pattern but who really cares. I would be fine without the lights TBH. The instructions are mostly intuitive clear and concise. Except when you change the EQ setting it just gives you one beep, two beeps, or three beeps relating to which EQ setting your on. The firmware could be updating with sounds that say Pop Rock or Bass, like the input voice programming. The book doesn't Identify which is which regarding EQ settings. You need to listen close but I believe two beeps is the bass setting and it sounds well on this with heavy bass music. I listen to a lot of what they now call EDM music so the bass is important. As is the AUX capability to hook it up to my portable drum machines and synths for making music. Now I will review on sound quality and I'm a major Audiophile sound person so the average even music lover probably won't be able to tell but it will distort on the very end of volume range. Not hugely but give it something to hold in the power like other reviewers have, something for the sound to bounce off of and you probably won't get the distortion. Even music lovers likely won't be able to tell. Sound quality is 7.5 out of 10 with my experience with JBL being 8.5 or 9, Bose 9.5. Each are at least ten times or more with comparable product, Bose being probably even more. One thing I didn't see in other reviews that I would like to bring up is the carry loop is made out of rubber but its attachment fitting has PH+ screw head, so you could undo it and replace it with something if you wanted. Which I thought was pretty dope for something this cheap. Like your could replace with Leather if the rubber ever failed. It will also work as a power bank off USB-A only, does not have to be turned on. I believe the charge rate when charging the speaker through is 5V x 2amps (according to specs) so volts times amps equals watts, 10watt charge. Not terribly fast charge rate, specs quote 4 hours from dead to full. Its not like my S24 ultra on the right block topping up in under an hour for around 5000mah charging at 45watts. I have no Idea what this used as a power bank can output for rate but nice to know it can do that with that monster battery of 6600mah. You can barely get a decent 10,000mah power bank at this price point. Battery bank only works from USB-A to C, not USB-C to C. I did try the Micro SD and it work. Overall this thing is well worth the asking price, seems like it will last and Im already thinking of getting another one for TWS option. I like to go to parks and play live with my drum machines etc. It will be great for that. Size is just under a 20 liter bottle around and about a soda can high. You won't be disappointed with this thing at all and the only negative reviews I've read are its too big or too loud. Comes with USB A to C and stereo mini jack 3.5mm to 3.5mm. Tremendous buy here, just get it. Be nice if you could chain 3 or 4 up wirelessly.

(4.5 stars) Best sound for this price but two notable quirks
General thoughts: I think the sound of this speaker is truly as good as other comments say. I'm not a hardcore audiophile but I have some hi-fi equipment and sense for good sound. Bass is clean and punchy: strong response down to 60 Hz and drops off quickly below that with a peak around 80 Hz (to my ears doing frequency sweep at 5 Hz intervals). Treble stays loud and clear up without buzzing (my ears can hear to ~16 kHz). Battery life for me is more like 10-12 hours than the stated 18 hrs at medium volume, though I mostly listen to bass-heavy electronic music which definitely drains the battery faster, so you could reasonably get close to 18 hours playing acoustic or classical music. Despite the wrap-around grille, the sound is not 360 degrees like some name-brand speakers of similar design, but that's fine. Two quirks: (1): volume control the volume control is coarse which is especially noticeable at low volumes. When using the speaker in semi-shared spaces like my back porch or a camp site, the volume is either too quiet or, if I turn it up one increment, too loud. (Solution) This can be fixed by disabling absolute volume on your phone (I have Android but probably similar function with iPhones). Plenty of info online on how to do this--it is simple. Then the volume controls on the speaker and your phone function separately, so pressing the volume buttons on your phone uses your phones volume increments which are probably more precise than the speaker's. Note that this will be true for all Bluetooth audio devices you use after changing the setting. **NOTE FOR MANUFACTURER: I would have rated 5 stars if the volume control was better/finer and I didn't have to change my phone settings. (2): sound profiles there are three sound profiles: "pop, bass, and vocals" and no clear indication of which mode you're using (beyond one to three beeps). Furthermore, the setting is changed by pressing the power button (have to hold it to power off) which is right next to the play/pause button and easy to press by mistake. To my understanding and ears, "Pop" is the balanced, default setting which sounds great; "bass" is as described, and way too bassy; "Vocals" emphasizes mid tones and sharply cuts bass tones, making music sound thin and weak. At some point I accidentally switched the mode to "Vocals" without knowing. I thought maybe water got in or something happened to the electronics so my speaker now sounds like crap...I took a look back at the product page and totally forgot about the three modes. I was initially very disappointed because I loved the sound of the speaker and was relieved to hear it in the balanced mode again. **NOTE TO MANUFACTURER: please change the button programming so it's not so easy to accidentally switch between sound profiles. Maybe press the power button three times or something. I don't think anyone is changing sound profiles so often that the function needs to be so centrally accessible. Also, please add some voice that says "pop" or "bass" instead of the beep sounds. And why not just call the "pop" setting "balanced" instead?

Big Sound at a Mega Value
Best speaker at this price point. The low end is solid and the battery keeps a long charge, which are two make-or-breaks for me. I recommend keeping the EQ set to flat and tweaking the sound on your player to fine tune to your taste. The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is because the volume adjustment goes from quiet to pretty loud without an in between, so be prepared for that. All in all this is a dense, solidly constructed speaker which has a small footprint and big sound. It is easy to use and should last a long time if cared for.

Fantastic sound, easy to use.
This Bluetooth Speaker from OHAYO Model X3 with 40 watts which is more than plenty power as just using at lower/mid volume has a fantastic sound that is full of great bass and mid/high frequencies. It has three sound choices: pop, vocal or bass sound effects. They all work well. The durability is built with quality that you can see and feel. The weight is heavy enough to be stable for the strong bass sound choice. The brightness of the top and bottom sides follows the sound of the song and is really nice, changing colors (you can shut off easily also). I’m thinking of buying a second speaker to have true wireless stereo which would sound wonderful. But just one is great and easy portable to bring music or podcasts outdoors with your smartphone’s Bluetooth. It has about 60 feet distance apart for playing. I am happy and I know you will be too owning this OHAYO Bluetooth speaker X3.
