What micro bit is needed to complete kit?

Could i use this kit with a small group of students, or would each student need one? also, can you do anything with this kit without programming?

Most of this kit is not suitable. CuteBot has 3-pin extension. However, this starter kit only has rainbow lights that can be adapted to CuteBot. Thank you!
