Worksperfectly with my base stations 2.0 and my index controllers

It's pretty easy to get on (after you struggle to take the original faceplate off,) and works magaically. I can stare into a corner without any base stations and the headset won't lose tracking (I dunno if it uses the cameras too or not.) I also accidentally smacked the faceplate while playing vr, making it fly across the room, and I was able to just put it back on and keep playing without issue.

This product is really, really difficult to review. For starters, it works FLAWLESSLY on my Pimax Crystal Light. The tracking is bang on compared to using the inside-out tracking and, much to my surprise, it eliminated tracking lag I didn't realize was even there until it was gone. The entire setup is AMAZING now and I'm very happy with how it's performing in my sim-racing rig. But... it is way overpriced for what it is. At $300 it's akin to highway robbery for what you're getting. It's a hunk of thin plastic with a tiny circuit board glued to it. Total cost of parts is probably less than $10. Add to that the cost of a base station (I paid $200 for an HTC Vive v1 which worked great and I only needed one since I'm only using it while sitting) and you've got a crazy expensive upgrade to a device that should have worked out of the box. I've had my PCL for a year now and I've battled tracking problems this entire time. Nothing fixed it (CPU upgrade, GPU upgrade, fresh windows install) until I upgraded the faceplate. So yeah. Does this specific item work? 100% yes. It's incredible. But it's too expensive and it's solving a problem that shouldn't exist in the first place.

This is very simple to install. You can install it before even setting up the headset and it all works well *except* that headset firmware updates cannot currently be installed while Lighthouse tracking is enabled (there's a simple toggle for this in the Pimax client). With the faceplate installed and Lighthouse enabled, tracking works just as well as for any Lighthouse-native headset. I still haven't unboxed the Crystal's own speakers but have used my Index controllers from day one. Four starts because the (purely cosmetic) clear plastic strip on the front wasn't glued down properly on mine and because it feels a little overpriced for what it is.
