Student's Solutions Manual for Fundamentals of Differential Equations 8e and Fundamentals of Differential Equations and Boundary Value Problems 6e

This is arguably the BEST solution manual I have used on any topic. As you should know (it is stated in the introduction to the text) this manual covers only the odd-numbered problems. My only complaint is that it does skip some of those problems. Just for that I should knock off one star. But the problems which are covered are explained so well and so completely that it makes up for "skipping." Besides, it usually has the solution for one challenging problem representing the category of the skipped problems. I am studying this course as a hobby and do not have the luxury of having an instructor. In that light this solution manual has been invaluable. By the way, I also have access to the Instructors Solution Manual which supposedly covers the even-numbered problem. It provides only answers (some of which are wrong) with absolutely no explanations. So you are not missing much. Bottom line, I wholeheartedly recommend this Student's Solution Manual by Viktor Maymeskul.

The reason I purchased this book is because my instructor for this course did not use MathLab (software that showed steps for problems). This book did the job in place of that. It was of great help to me mostly for the first few chapters and up to the middle of the textbook. It will only give you odd numbers of problems and sometimes when solutions start to get too long it will skip steps. A problem I found at the end of the textbook is since when problems are really wrong it will also skip over odd problems. Not only does the author give solutions, but there are also written steps here and there. The only bad thing about a large book like this, is it is paperback and the seams are coming undone and had to tape the back to keep it together.

The book came to me a lot earlier than I was expecting it to and it was in pretty decent condition so I am definitely happy about this purchase (plus, it helps! It has actual step-by-step help so it's easy to follow and it refers to actual formulas and strategies from the textbook so you know where to look for each problem). Just keep in mind that these are the solutions to the odd problems only!

Solutions for the most part are correct. Many solutions take the long way around and arrive to the correct answer in a different way. If you have mastered Calc 1-3 and know trig identities and integration techniques then I would advise using this more as an idea of what the final answer should look like. I give it 3/5 simply based on the confusion it causes on Laplace transforms and Newton's Heating equation.

This book is very helpful. It provides fully worked examples and even additional explanation. It covers all the odd problems.

This is a good solutions manual. Describes steps at times which is nice

I am fairly happy with this solutions manual. I purchased it for a class on differential equations and so far the book has been exactly what it claimed to be. The book has detailed solutions to all of the odd problems in the book which is pretty standard in my experience. This book sets itself apart from other solutions manuals in the detail of the answers it provides. I also like that the book has fairly large font and generous spacing to make reading it easier. Side note, this book is very large it is actually significantly larger in size than the text book it is actually for.

I understand that the book only offers the solutions to odd answers, but it sucks when you are working on an odd numbered question, and you get your hopes up because you have this book, but then it turns out that the book does not have all odd numbered solutions. As the class progressed, I stopped using it, as it didn't seem to be as helpful as the teachers' notes and solutions.

This solutions manual is really comprehensive, explains using words what happens between each step. It's a rather cumbersome book, but well worth it.

Pretty good examples/answers worked out in this book. The main problem with this book is that some of the chapters don't cover many of the problems, some chapters only have 1 in 5 of the questions worked out. Overall I still found it good for studying.
