As much as I love coffee gadgets, I wasn't convinced I needed one of these. Bought a new espresso machine and was playing around with it and a variety of beans and baskets, but even with a WDT tool and, what I thought anyway, were even tamps, I wasn't getting even tamps. Decided to try a distribution tool and yep, it's helping in giving me the beautiful pucks I wanted. Needed? No. But it helps give me an even puck so worth it in my book. This thing is built solid! I was surprised by the weight. It's easy to adjust and looks beautiful on my counter. Recommend.

I've tried distribution tools from other manufacturers but found those to have design flaws that made using them ridiculously messy or finding them frustrating to use because the depth setting wouldn't stay set. Because of this, I wrote this type of tool off as just some fiddly gimmick that constantly overwrought espresso geeks (who obsess over dozens of inconsequential details) would use in their coffee making rituals. When visiting a coffee loving compatriot, I tried this tool. It is absurdly easy to set the precise depth for each basket and it stays set where I put it until I change it. For those of us that have an embarrassingly huge selection of coffee baskets (nine different double and triple baskets, by last count) for their machine's three portafilters, being able to set the depth of the distribution and having it stay at the precise depth I set it at means I will use it. The solid wood top and the beautifully polished chromed finish gives it an elegant and luxe feel that make an absolute pleasure to use. Recommended without reservation.

Purchased this since I saw many baristas using this in European coffee shops. The difference in taste of the coffee following the use of the distributor was easily noticeable and appreciated. Finally, quality coffee beans yielding an exquisite cup of espresso. Definitely worth the purchase ! The item is sturdy and the wood used for the handle is of excellent quality. So happy to have invested in the purchase.

I have another coffee distributor that uses gravity and a weight to settle the grounds. With this one, as long as I'm consistent with my bean weight, ground weight and I dial this thing in to the right depth it works great. I played around with it tonight and its' easy to adjust. Just loosen the wood handle and spin the center section with until you get the depth you want. Then you tighten the top and it holds it at the right depth. One thing to note, for me I'm using a deep basket with straight walls and if I dial in too deep it gets stuck when pushing down. Luckily I'm going pretty shallow to level and then I tamp down with my Reg Barber tamper. Beautifully crafted, solid and well built for the price.

Excellent product, it fits perfectly into my 51mm portafilter and the micro adjustments are super awesome. Couple this with a scale for measuring out the exact amount of coffee needed and you can really dial in espresso shots.
