My betta was not interested
Bought this for my sick betta as it is meant to help with illness. Unfortunately he wasn't interested and after trying it for a few days I've had to give up. Didn't make him any better either. I felt the pellets were a bit big for him and he is quite a big fish.

This is a must-have for aquarium people. I feed this to all new fish to clean out their intestines from parasites. Metro is an awesome medication and this food smells awful but the fish gobble it up. Lastly it’s the best way to deliver Metro, straight to the GI.

This medicinal food is just what I needed to bring my fish back from the brink of death. I have a tank of about 20 loaches, and one of the clown loaches was obviously skinnying. All of his tank makes were plump and racing around and he was swimming up and down the tank glass and his head was sunken in. I fed this food exclusively for about three weeks, to the whole tank, even though the label says only three days, because he was in such rough shape and I was worried I was really going to lose him. He was one of the original six I bought five years ago and I was pretty attached to him. I can safely say, about three weeks out from the end of this treatment, the entire tank is doing great and my skinny clown loach is back on the road to good health. His belly can actually get round when full— it’s amazing what a difference this food has made for this fish. I think all keepers of wild-caught fish commonly known to carry parasites should treat with this medicinal food as a matter of good fish keeping. Put the medicine right where it is needed: in the fish’s gut. Plus, since I was feeeling nothing else for three weeks, it helped to know it was a quality food I was feeding and the tank was not being malnourished during treatment. NLS is good stuff! LOVE LOVE LOVE! Now, I feed it maybe once a week, and only a little as a supplement. I will treat all new fish from now on with this product.

My community aquariums as well as my mbunas love these little pellets. As far as for the medicine end of it, it seemed to help one of my dwarf goramis that had intestinal parasites. The cichlids it's about 50/50. Not sure if it was the clout that cured them or the food or combo of both. I also use it to feed my new fish in quarantine tank for the first 3 days just in case they may have brought parasites with them. Seems to work. Have had no issues with parasites in my newly added fish. I feed new life pellets on a regular basis to all my fish and they are healthy and have amazing colors. Only use Hex Shield for 3 days as treatment. I really like all of New life's foods for my fish and doesn't bother the water quality of my tanks.

The fish love it. They appear to be improving in health. The HITH wounds appear to be healing. My only complaint is that they buried the instructions half way down the bottle, and I appear to have been feeding them for too long. Fortunately, the fish don't appear to be suffering any new health effects.

Recently some fish of my fish had begun showing signs of internal parasites (severe weight loss, white stringy poop). I already feed this brand to my fish and everyone loves it so I wanted to try their medicated variety. I'm on my 3rd day of feeding. Across the two tanks some fish love it, some don't. Going through one "3 day" cycle is taking about a week as some fish won't touch it until they're starving. Guppies: Those not showing symptoms have loved it. Those showing symptoms have picked at the food a couple of times. Betta: He's not showing any symptoms of parasites. He's also very unhappy with the food change and gives me a "are you serious?" face at every feeding. He's retaliated by eating all my guppy fry. Hillstream Loach: No symptoms, no interest in the food. Flagfish: One has symptoms, the other two don't. After 2 days of refusing the food they're finally trying it out. So far though they've been spitting it back out. Due to flagfish being grazers I've been leaving the food in the tank (it's gone by morning). Today the afflicted flagfish is more active and more interested in sticking with the other two. Will update this review on whether or not all fish recover.
